I promised you some ponderings so here goes! I want to encourage each and everyone of you to live more boldly and more colourfully!
And this starts with a question:
Who told you?!! Who told you that black was slimming?
Who told you that purple/beige/lilac was an “old lady colour”? Who told you that your handbag and shoes had to match?
Who told you you were too old for that bikini, long hair, denim jacket, leather trousers, tattoo.... Who is your style icon? Is it Helen Mirren or Meghan Markle or Annie Lennox or Michelle Obama or .......? Do you have the same body shape, personality or lifestyle as them?
Are you being the best version of you or a poor imitation of someone else?
Comparison is the thief of joy. (Someone told me that recently and I heard it loud and clear!) Don’t try to be anyone else! Be you! Unapologetically, loud and proud, you!
Recently a client of mine told me that when she goes out with a certain friend she “dumbs down” because she knows her friend won’t dress up or wear jewellery.
Whilst it’s always good to have our friends’ best interests at heart, that made me so sad.
No matter who your friend is, no matter who your mum/sister/daughter is.... you are you!
You need to own your own style and dress for who you are if you are going to feel comfortable and fabulous! It is not your responsibility to make others feel fabulous. They need to work themselves out and fine their own style.
So what do you need to do? *Find your colours!
*Work out your body shape!
*Find what’s appropriate!
*Don’t be afraid to be overdressed.
*Learn to feel good inside and out. (Photo taken in studio after I’d clocked off yesterday. Relaxing and dressing just for me!)
I don’t really know who Grace is? 🤔
I spent this week in agony for the most part having done some damage to my back somehow. Could have been the swinging a 3 year old around like a windmill at our little local music festival or walking up a practically vertical hill in flip flops to get home ( #richmondnorthyorkshire - beautiful but hilly ) who knows but throughout a tough week this little crazy has been super helpful. In fact I’d highly recommend doing yourself an injury in order to get a helpful child to replace any whinging ones that normally hang around.
Here she is just proving she watches too much YouTube..on the positive maybe a career in TV is still an option...if we could actually understand what she is saying.
