Not necessarily. We need to eat wholesome foods (from good/sustainable sources)-that work with our bodies, in this season of your life. Food that makes you feel AMAZING! And what does that usually entail? A whole lot of colourful plant foods- because those give you so many of the feel good, look good, do good nutrients that our body is in search of. Bonus points if you get them from your local farmer! Keto? Gluten free? Vegan? Vegetarian? Paleo? Then I take that into my everyday cookbook-less meals. 〰️ This strategy makes cooking delicious food a lot more attainable and realistic for our busy lives. 〰️ It doesn’t have to be elegant or complicated to nourish yourself well on the daily. You can repeat recipes often, changing a bit here and there. And even if you mess up a little, how bad can it really be? (That’s why god invented aioli) So don’t be afraid to try new things or keep a favorite on repeat. 〰️ PS - eggs are always an acceptable dinner. 🙃

It is packed with fiber (up to 25 grams / cup), complex carbohydrates, antioxidants and various vitamins and minerals in quantities greater than in any food. A profound amount of data shows that substituting plant protein for animal protein can lower risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. These are both risk factors for cognitive impairment. It is very easy to incorporate it into your diet: simply substitute white rice or white pasta with quinoa in a recipe. Keep an eye out for our quinoa recipe tomorrow! Silverbeet Smoothie!! 😳🤣 This one is dedicated to my darling Nana is who turns 91 today! 🥰 My first experience of silverbeet was in my her kitchen growing up, she would sauté it up in a bit of butter and salt, we all use to tuck it. We grow loads of silverbeet in our veggie plot- it’s so easy to grow, prolific in growth and grows all year round. Real bang for your buck especially if your growing area is small. And you can use it in smoothies just like spinach. This is our plot yesterday- and all those leaves just went straight into our morning smoothie - the kids and I guzzle it down like it’s going out of fashion. The winning recipe is- 🌱 min. 1 cup silverbeet 🌱 1.5 cups coconut water 🌱 knob of fresh ginger 🌱 good sprinkle of cinnamon 🌱 half a frozen banana 🌱 1 scoop vanilla complete protein 🌱 2 tbs flaxseed 🌱 1 cup ice Such an easy way to load up on so much goodness.
