I’ll be honest with y’all- I got into fitness for the wrong reasons. Went through a bad break up and thought a “revenge body” would be the answer lol. . . Turns out... it wasn’t the answer (surprise) BUT, it opened my eyes to how amazing I could feel by taking care of ME! That’s when I first fell in love with fitness and the rest is history 🙂. Why you should be squatting! 🏋️‍♂️ - In terms of weight lifting obviously 😅😂 - Squats are a well known exercise to regular gym goers and people who don’t even workout, they are a staple of most leg days and a compound exercise that works many of the legs muscles as well as the core! 🦵 - So here are a few reasons you should be using them in your own workouts! 👇 - 〽️Develops the quads predominantly but also the hamstrings, calves and glutes along with the core! 〽️Boosts confidence, because lifting a heavy exercise like the barbell squat 100% gets you fired up, you feel strong after a heavy lift and this boosts you mentally! 〽️Gets you burning fat more, because more muscles are being used! 〽️Biggest takeaway for me is that it build character, it takes a lot of physical and mental strength to go and lift big, if you are going into it half hearted then you won’t get the lift done. So for me completing an exercise that takes the sort of focus and drive that a squat does helps me build a stronger character with better discipline! - The great thing about squats is that there are so many different variations for different abilities or just depending on which type you enjoy the most, because enjoying the exercises you do keeps you motivated! 🙌

Yes, you do have to follow a program in order to progress. However if you want to keep sustainably progressing you cannot follow the same routine for the rest of the year, of course. Besides changing training parameters like sets, reps, intensity and rest times within a periodized training approach you can also utilize the following tweaks:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1) Instead of exchanging the whole exercise (e.g. conventional deadlifts against loaded hyperextensions) you can also use a variation of it to set a new stimulus (e.g. doing snatch grip deadlifts instead of conventional deadlifts).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2) You can also adjust your tempo (e.g. 3110 to 51X0) and therefore adjust time under tension and or play with elements of deadstops, isometric holds and explosive concentric phases.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3) You can change your grips. I like to utilize the whole variety of grips (overhand, underhand and neutral) within my programs and regularly change them for better progression. Dnevne potrebe za ugljenim hidratima zavise od fizičkog opterećenja, a što je mišićni rad veći treba više ugljenih hidrata. U metabolizam se uključuju u obliku glikoze, a deponuju u obliku glikogena te predstavljaju pokretač akivnosti mišića u energetskom smislu. Glukoza se u jetri može dobijati i iz procesa glukoneogeneze. To je proces nastajanja glukoze iz neugljenohidratnih izvora. Dugotrajna fizička aktivnost dovodi do potrošnje ugljenohidratnih izvora u obliku glikogena što se manifestuje padom nivoa glukoze u krvi (hipoglikemije). Hipoglikemija stimuliše pojačano trošenje masnih kiselina iz masnih depoa kao izvor energije. Ovaj proces je izuzetno značajan pri redukciji telesne mase. Za gubitak telesnih masti je naravno pored fizičke aktivnosti potrebno i redukovati ugljene hidrate. Najbolje je kada se redukcija odvija zajedno sa povećanom aktivnosti. Redukcija ugljenih hidrata mora biti umerena i pod nadzorom kvalifikovanog stručnjaka. Izuzetno je bitno unositi i dovoljno ugljenih hidrata kada se ima za cilj povećanje mišićne mase. Tu su najbitniji polisaharidi. Ako ne unosimo dovoljno ugljenih hidrata organizam će koristiti proteine kao energetski izvor, a to nam nije cilj, već njihova uloga treba da bude gradivna. Ugljeni hidrati se skladište u vidu glukoze u mišićima i jetri, dok se višak deponuje u obliku masnog tkiva. Količina glikogena varira od 300-500g ugljenih hidrata, a kod nekih sportista i više. Ovo je moja omiljena kombinacija kada treniram na prvi obrok. Overtraining is something that is very real. Some people think it is a myth and say that you are just under-recovering. That's exactly what it is in the first place. • You body cannot keep up with the intense demands you are putting on it so it can't recover as quick anymore after a certain point. • But keep in mind that overtraining doesn't happen immediately. The correct term for that is overreaching. Overreaching is important to make progress because you are pushing yourself in your training. • But when you overreach for too long, you enter a state of overtraining. When you feel too fatigued, sleep quality suffers, weights in the gym heavier than they should, you're too sore, etc, that is a sign of overtraining. • It is then when you should take it easy and cut back on the intensity a bit for 1 or 2 weeks. You body will recover and become stronger.
