Yes there are ways we restrict that can lead to a binge, if we're constantly saying we can't have things we want, following what other people say we should do, or punishing ourselves for having binged. . But there are always ways we can help ourselves by restricting. . Restricting is all about limiting and reducing. It's your reasons behind why you're limiting that matters. Are you doing it from a place of love and caring for yourself or from a place of desperation or punishment? . When you restrict from a place of love and caring, you put restrictions and limitations on yourself that are in your best interest, that will benefit you and your well-being. It's like limiting your tv watching - not a terrible thing to restrict! Or restricting the amount of time you spend working or scrolling through social media. . When you restrict things in your life, it leaves room for the things you really want. If you restrict the amount of time you spend eating then you'll be able to spend time doing more fulfilling things. If you restrict the amount of non-fueling junk/joy foods you eat, it leaves room to eat more of the nutritious foods that make you feel good. . 🌟MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY🌟 From the age 10-11 I started putting on weight due to me not being able to cope with a loss of a loved one (which I was not aware of till now as an adult). . I struggled with my weight up until the age of 20 or so. So for 10 years I desperately tried to lose weight & it was always a losing battle me always losing for food! . I felt like food controlled me! I was complaining about my body yet I couldn’t say no to all the unhealthy cakes and chocolate bars and other foods I kept eating without control. . I did many diets- weight watchers 2x, blood diet, fasting camp,low carb diets etc... . I did get some results but they never stayed for long! . I joined the gym when I was around 20, started losing a lot of weight with healthy eating & training but I got to the other extreme of over exercising & over dieting to keep the body I had. . When I skipped the gym or had something outside of what I considered healthy- I felt guilty and always felt that I gained weight. . This was no life either. Extremes are never good! . So finally I came across a vegan lifestyle & eating & balanced out my trainings. . A lot of trial and error through years + a lot of internal self development work has gone in. . So the key to long term happiness in my personal opinion through my journey: Vegan Nutrition, balanced yet effective Training & Emotional & Mindset work! The last being the most important! Until I didn’t sort out my emotions & accepted & started loving myself- until then I had problems with food & training. . EVERYTHING I HAVE LEARNED THROUGH MY JOURNEY from age 10 to now 27 IS IN AWAKEN THE GODDESS PROJECT! 😴 Are you sleeping enough? 😴 ⠀ ⠀ Most of us know that sleep is important. But what are the consequences of being sleep deprived? Aside from being low energy and having to consume copious amounts of caffeine to function, did you know that under sleeping can actually cause you to overeat during the day? ⠀ ⠀ A study done in 2012 took 17 normal/healthy young men and women for 8 nights, where half of the subjects slept normally and the other slept only 2/3rds of their normal time. The researchers found that the sleep deprived group consumed an average of 549 MORE calories than the well rested group each day! That could be seriously detrimental to someone who is trying to lose or maintain their weight.⠀ ⠀ We all should be prioritizing sleep (aiming for 7-9 hours for most people), but especially if we are trying to lose weight, manage our stress levels, and perform optimally in the gym. Some of my tips for getting more sleep:⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ Cut off electronics 1-2 hours before bed. I'll admit I really need to work on this! If you have to be on the computer before bed, blue light blocking glasses can be helpful. ⠀ 2️⃣ Grounding and sunlight can be extremely helpful in getting a better night's sleep. It helps to regulate our serotonin, dopamine, and aids in melatonin production. Try going out for an early morning and/or evening walk and grounding yourself in the grass for 15 minutes and see how it improves your overall well-being. I really stand by this one, it's changed my life. ⠀ 3️⃣ Cut down on your caffeine consumption and try not to consume any caffeine 8-10 hours before bed.⠀ ⠀ If you have any tips on how to get better sleep, comment down below!
