Hit my target for today and felt great about it!! Not only that but my first time back running in a long time and I found it easier than I expected. Creating a daily calorie deficit will let me succeed. No deficit, no weight loss. It doesnt matter how I do it (currently focusing on intuitive eating). Any type of deficit will do, keto, intermittent fasting, low carb, calorie counting, macro etc. As long as I create a deficit, I cannot fail. . The reason I switched and am having so much success with intuitive eating is because I am not limiting myself. Once the limit is gone, I do not become obsessed with what I am denying myself. It has taken time, but the cravings are pretty much gone. There is no telling myself I cannot have pasta, chocolate, cheese, alcohol. There is no guilt about going to barbeques, birthday parties and other events. I lose weight while out and about/traveling. . Here is how I do it. I do not eat until I have been hungry for about an hour. Once I am hungry I first make sure to have vegetables, protein and water first. I then add whatever else to my meal. I stop when I am almost full. Started the watch on the same time and also wore my polar heart rate Monitor on my chest to get accurate heart rate on the elliptical. ▫️ According to the machine I burned a total of 705kcal and went 4.5 miles (around 6.7km). My watch on the other hand told me I only burned 150kcal while running for an hour and only went 4km... Yeah this ain't right. I guess I stick to manually tracking my workouts. Very dissappointed. 🍚 Cauliflower rice 👏 By @feelgoodfoodie ⠀ 💪 Check the link in our bio 👉 @keto_healthy_meal👈 to get Everything You Need for #ketodiet success.   ⏩ Don't forget to share and follow @keto_healthy_meal for more 😃 .⠀ INGREDIENTS 1 head cauliflower, rinsed 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1 garlic clove, minced 1 small onion, diced ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pepper Juice of 1 lime 2-3 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro . INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove the core and let the cauliflower dry completely. 2. Roughly chop the cauliflower into florets, and place half the cauliflower in a food processor. Pulse until the cauliflower is small and resembles couscous. Set aside and repeat with the remaining cauliflower. 3. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil, then add the onions and garlic and cook until soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. 4. Add the cauliflower “rice” and stir to combine. Add the salt and pepper and continue to cook, stirring frequently until cauliflower softens about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to a large serving bowl. Yep, today I chose to stop and smell the flowers. And damn straight my neighbors probably thought I was crazy. But really, when is the last time you stopped to smell the flowers? Today on my lunch break, I chose to go for a jog at the park. Not to “lose weight” or “look good in a swimsuit.” But because it feels damn good when I move my body. And on the way back, I took time to enjoy the perfect weather, the warm sunshine, and the absolutely beautiful scenery. And you should too. I spent years and years yo-yo dieting and showing you my results of before and afters. But the problem with each before and after, is that the before kept showing up again. So I quit. I am finished with “dieting.” I will move my body because it feels good to move my body and my body feels amazing after. I will eat what my body tells me it needs (and shockingly when I listen to it, it asks for veggies waaaayyy more than it asks for chocolate). And there will be no more “before and afters” that are focused on weight, because that isn’t sustainable, and I am not going to clog my brain with constant thoughts of food, calories and weight. Instead, I’m going to use that time to do the things that bring me joy, and I’m going to stop and smell the flowers in the meantime. Don’t let anyone tell you and don’t you dare believe that when you “lose the weight” you will be happier and life will suddenly be perfect. It won’t, because weight doesn’t = happiness, and let’s face it, there will always be something we want to improve. So wear the damn swimsuit, eat the damn cake or the damn veggies your body is asking for, move your body because it feels good and don’t give another thought to the number on the scale or what other people think about you. Don’t live for the before and after, live for the now ❤️
