Let me talk a min about the importance of keeping yourself busy in terms of weight loss goals/overeating. If you’re like me when you’re bored you can snack until the cows come home. Nothing sabotages me quite like sitting around doing nothing can. I can eat even if I’m not hungry when I’m bored or not focused on specific tasks.
Currently ya girl has quite a bit of free time on her hands. I’m pretty sure in the last couple of weeks my phone usage and snacking has gone up tremendously (like some serious positive correlations graph wise), so finding other things to do has been really important.
You’d never guess what I’ve been doing...
Yeah, it’s not specifically gym or diet related. I’m not avoiding snacking by doing 20 squats every time I crave a chip. But I am filling my time with a hobby, doing something that I can be so focused on that I don’t even think to reach for that snack in the first place. This morning I even painted while eating breakfast and I ate 10x slower than I would compared to if I were watching a YouTube video while eating (speed eaters unite). So dust off that hobby you’ve put aside just because it isn’t health and fitness related, because it might just help you in more ways than you think ❤️ watercolour painting has also been a great therapy for me as well.

Sorry for another pizza pic but we have been OBSESSED with the Morrison’s make your own pizza recently 🤣 We got peppers, red onion, mushroom and garlic oil on ours and the lady at the counter put us 1/2 bag of @violife_foods grated cheeze on each pizza 😍🙌🏻
Made a poke bowl a few days and got a bunch of leftover sushi rice so made these fried rice balls that tasted soo good 🍚😊
If you have leftover sushi rice simply roll the rice into balls and roll them in a mix of panko and spices then simply fry in a pan with plenty of oil 😋

✌️Endlich seit laaanger Zeit wieder Antipasti vorbereitet zum Naschen und als Beilage für die nächsten Tage ✌️
⚠️ Je länger dein eingelegte Gemüse halten soll, desto steriler muss das Gefäß sein und desto mehr Essig sollte drin sein, denn Essig konserviert das Ganze schön wenn kühl gelagert ⚠️
😂 Bei mir hält sowas nicht Monate... Wenn ich das heute vorbereite, möchte ich es am liebsten spätestens morgen genießen, aber eine Nacht sollte es für den Geschmack schon durchziehen 😂
👍Ich habe heute das genommen was da war: Knoblauch, Zucchini, Karotte und Aubergine aber bei Antipasti muss man auch einfach ausprobieren was einem am Meisten schmeckt. Denkbar sind ebenfalls Paprika, chili Schoten, Zwiebeln, Rettich, Rote Beete, Pilze etc... Auch bei den Gewürzen muss man testen... 👍
➡️ Hier einmal meine Anleitung für dieses Rezept:
✔️Gewünschte Gemüsesorte und Menge waschen und zerkleinern
✔️In Öl anbraten, dabei schon mit Salz, Pfeffer und Kräutern oder Chili würzen
✔️Wenn alles halbwegs gut durch gegart ist, abkühlen lassen und in etwas Essig marinieren, bei Bedarf nachwürzen
✔️Zum Schluss in ein Auslaufsicheres Gefäß deiner Wahl füllen und komplett mit hochwertigem Öl (hier Leinöl) übergießen bis das Gemüse komplett eingedeckt ist
✔️Luftdicht verschließen und im Keller oder Kühlschrank ziehen lassen

Spicy and creamy butternut squash soup with Middle Eastern vibes 🌶✨ You might think that there are enough veggie soup recipes in this world but may I prove that wrong! This soup, inspired by @soppahanna, is full of flavor and the texture is so smoooth and that is why I love it so much 🧡⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 butternut squash⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
a splash of olive oil ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
salt & pepper to taste⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 onion, diced⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 red pepper, diced⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 cloves of garlic, diced
fresh ginger, grated⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
½ thyme ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
sprinkle of chili flakes ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 tsp gingerbread spice mix (ginger, sour orange, clove, ginger)⠀⠀⠀
1 tsp turmeric⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 dl coconut cream⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5 dl vegetable stock⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
coconut cream, sunflower seeds and coriander on top⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Peel and chop the butternut squash. Spread the chunks out onto a baking sheet in a single layer and rub with olive oil. Add salt & pepper and roast in 225 degrees until soft.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Add diced garlic cloves, onion and bell pepper to a large pan with olive oil. Cook until softened. Add rest of the ingredients including the roasted butternut squash chunks. Use an immersion blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add more broth or spiced if necessary. Finish with fresh coriander and your favorite seeds 🌱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Nooch aka nutritional yeast gives your meals not just a cheesy taste, it is also a real superfood! It is an amazing source of b-vitamins, protein (50g protein per 100g 🤯) and at the same time it's low in fat! 👌🏼
Kala namak is another gamechanger, but be careful with it. It tastes and smells very strong like egg and is quite salty (maybe because it is salt 🤷♂️😂). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can find both of these in some supermarkets, health stores or of course order them online! 👍🏻
RECIPE: Vegan and gluten free mint chocolate puddings 🌱🌱🌱
Made these puddings for when my non free from friend came for dinner and she loved them!
They’re also a reasonably healthy choice if you’re getting a bit sick of all the festive chocolates and mince pies.

1 tin of coconut milk (for best results, place in the fridge the night before)
1/2 cup cocao powder
1/2 cup coconut sugar (for the top)
1/4 cup coconut sugar (for the base)
2 tea spoons of mint extract
1 cup of ground flax seed
1 cup of ground almond
1/2 cup cocoa nibs
1/2 cup melted coconut oil
Fresh mint for decoration
• Mix flax seed, ground almonds, cocao nibs, sugar and coconut oil together in a bowl.
• Spoon this mix into the bottom of the ramekins making sure to press down firmly.
• Place the bases to cook for 10 mins on 180 degrees.
• Take out and leave to cool
• Add dates and coconut milk in a food processor and blend until mixed together.
• Add cocao, sugar and mint extract and blend again
• Ensuring the base is fully cool, pour the topping mix into the ramekins.
• Place in the freezer for 4-6 hours
• Remove an hour before serving to ensure it’s thawed.
• Add mint leaves to garnish.

Yellow Curry Ramen Noodles! 🌞
I swear chewy, slurpy noodles are becoming my one of my favorite foods! 🍜
I decided to play around with some curry paste to cook these ramen noods in and wow!! They turned out perfectly chewy and soaked up all of that delicious flavor like a sponge 😋

This is from the current Christmas menu available at @beckworthemporium. Their usual Sunday nut roast is veggie but not vegan, so I’m not sure how it compares. However, I can say that I throughly enjoyed this 😋

So it's almost mid-December my friends, holy jingle bells, how did that happen?!?! If you haven't gotten into the kitchen to make something festive yet, what are you doing with your life? I mean, it's Christmas cookie crunch-time, people!!! I love making the traditional simple things like sugar cookies and fudge, but I also like to make some fancier things too. Obviously gingerbread houses are a must and then these homemade caramels are something I like to make during the season as well. They're require a little more patience but they're a crowd favorite and make a perfect handmade gift.

. ‘Tis the season for all things Eggnog including this delicious Holiday inspired twist on classic creamy Rice Pudding .
Luckily there are so many Vegan Nog options out there. I always forget which ones I’ve tried and liked so I took a chance on @wholefoods brand Almond Holiday Nog which was pretty good! .

Ultimate plate of comfort food 🙌🏻
🎄 mum and I went Christmas food shopping the other day and got some bits and bobs (including @lindamccartneyfoods new meat loaf!! And gravy hehe )
As you can see though, I couldn’t wait until Christmas Day to use the gravy so I made myself some sausages + mash absolutely drowned it in the stuff 😂🤦🏻♀️
🌟 For the mashed potato 🌟
1️⃣ wash and peel however many potatoes you like (I used around 5 small ish ones)
2️⃣ microwave them for 4 to 5 minutes until soft
3️⃣ mash them up with a potato masher
4️⃣ stir in a tsp of mustard, 1tbsp nutritional yeast, salt and pepper and some oat milk to get it to the desired consistency -

Yesterday, I wanted to make a poppy seed strudel, but I didn't have enough ground poppy seeds at home so I filled half of the roll with a mix of almonds, hazelnut butter, orange peel and cinnamon. So festive! I also didn't have apricot jam or any other light-toned jam, so I used my homemade blackberry jam – which made the whole loaf look like bolognese or lasagna on top. 😫😂
