Don't worry about a thing, 'cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Confidence is the key to a lot of things, usually, the more confident I am in things, the more likely I am to get it. When we think we’re good enough to get it, and we act like we already have it, it can really show how good of a match we are for it. “Fake it ‘till you make it,” is definitely one thing I like to live by because it can make me look more confident then I actually am, eventually making me more confident in myself. It’s not only confidence, but it can also lifts my mood up, and miraculously, somehow makes me better at the actual activity or thing I’m doing. Saying that phrase is like a little pep talk to myself, it gives me some faith, I trust myself a little more, bringing a little more confidence into the way I live. •••

Today horror fans celebrate 37 years of The Thing which was released on this day in the US all the way back in 1982. .
Directed by the master himself, John Carpenter, this follows the plight of twelve men completely isolated in an Antarctic research base with an extraterrestrial monstrosity capable of mimicking them all perfectly, resulting in paranoia and terror as they turn on each other, and fall prey one-by-one to the Thing... .
Gory, cynical, and tense, it’s crazy to think that on release this movie was met with unanimous disapproval for its gross effects and bleaker-than-bleaker tone, and was quickly considered a flop at the box office. Years later though The Thing found its audience and is now thought of as a gruesome yet thought-provoking masterpiece! .
It’s no overstatement when I say that this film is one of my favourite and most influential experiences ever, ranking in my personal top-five movies of all time, thanks to the brilliant cast, the unsettling score by Ennio Morricone, and the amazing creature effects by Rob Bottin, who literally ended up hospitalised with exhaustion while trying to complete his genre-defining work on the film. .
Seriously, this film is incredible. If you haven’t seen it yet I have one thing to say to you- ‘You gotta be fucking kidding!’ .
