Day 16 of @thehotroomyoga #asanaplaybook Balancing stick Just a few hours apart. Could and could not. My foot could barely leave the ground in the 2nd pic. Nick thought I was messing with him, because I would do something crazy like that for 30 minutes 😂, but it was like my foot was a magnet to the earth. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Fear? Yup. Doubt? Yup. Yup. Not feeling capable physically? Um yup. Spoiler alert...none of these things ⬆️ were just about this pose. That’s how it works, shit comes up and then you’re aware of it and you can move to fight through it, for yourself instead of against yourself. Our bodies are different every day, sometimes every hour. Accept it and move on try again tomorrow. Easier said than done. But try. The work, the challenges, the literal tears on the ground in your backyard by the fire saying “what if I can’t do this?!???” But what if you can? Then, I heard an instructor say “don’t just contract your tail...ENGAGE your tail.” BAM 💥 picture #2. This practice is FOR LIFE because one day you may hear something that changes everything. More compression, more opening, more backside strength, and more confidence. Confidence? Yep. Anything that makes you stretch crown of your head up and bring chest forward triggers confidence in body and mind. Thanks #teamhotroom for keeping me accountable to my practice.
