Spotlight on Pippa McKenzie, the Marketing Campaigns Manager at @hesta.super, who were one of Women in Super’s earliest supporters 25 years ago.
Pippa fell into super 17 years ago after relocating to Melbourne from New Zealand. With a background in travel as a Product Manager, she recruited herself into a communications role in super to fill a gap. She loves being at Hesta as it is a chance to be the voice for the ‘unsung heroes’ – key workers in the Health and Community sector who are often hardworking and undervalued. 80% of HESTA members are women, and she is passionate about advocating for them.
Her role is mostly centred around creating campaigns which are tailored and sent out to HESTA members at various crucial times throughout a member’s life. She gets a kick out of knowing that her campaigns have an impact and that she’s been able to engage and help members – even if it’s just helping them to log in and check their super online.
Pippa won our 2018 CSMF Scholarship and attended the conference this year – made particularly special as it was the Women in Super 25th Birthday. “Not only was it a fantastic networking opportunity, but you learn a lot from the speakers and it also really solidifies that we’re on the right track – we’ve got this! What was also fantastic was the number of women who presented and attended!”
As for the future of super? Pippa hopes for a focus on how we can better educate those who are coming into the workforce about super and the importance of it, and the importance of the insurance you get with super. “I’d love for people to really understand that it’s YOUR savings and it’s YOUR money.” More education earlier on would go a long way – “we need to be talking about superannuation in schools. People feel that super is an additional tax, but it’s really not – it’s forced savings”. Pippa’s top tips for ensuring your super is in the best shape it can be for retirement:
1. Know which fund you’re with
2. Have a good understanding of what return you’re getting and what fees you’re paying
3. Look at what investment option you’re currently in, and whether that’s right for your current phase of life. Consider your ‘risk profile’.

"MSP" AKO mga Ka-MSP at MSP-ers!!! :D
Yakub menipu kakaknya
Petrus memiliki masalah dengan temperamen
Paulus adalah seorang yang ganas
Daud berselingkuh dengan isteri stafnya
Nuh mabuk karena anggur
Yunus melarikan diri dari Tuhan
Gideon tidak percaya pada dirinya sendiri
Martha terlalu kuatir
Petrus setia sampai mati
Paulus menulis sebagian besar Alkitab Perjanjian Baru
Daud disebut sebagai kekasih Allah
Nuh dan keturunannya memenuhi bumi.
Yunus diberikan kesempatan kedua
Gideon dan 300 tentaranya adalah kisah 300 yang asli
Thomas mengakui Tuhan
Sara beroleh Ishak
Elia diangkat ke Sorga
Musa membebaskan umat Israel dari Mesir
Zakheus berjumpa dengan Yesus
Abraham menjadi Bapa bangsa-bangsa
Lazarus hidup kembali!
Wow! Tidakkah mereka sekarang terdengar benar-benar seperti “jagoannya” dalam sebuah cerita?
