💐My little Tosca gallery4️⃣ - featuring Baron Scarpia🍷
🕵🏻♂️In Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Tosca”, Baron Vitellio Scarpia is the chief of police of Rome. He is from Sicily and was dispatched to Rome by the court of Naples when Naples took control over Rome in 1799. He was known for his merciless law enforcement.
🔪While searching for the escaped prisoner, Angelotti, Scarpia happened to see the celebrity singer, Floria Tosca. He quickly figured out the involvement of Mario Cavaradossi in the prison break and set his eyes on arresting Cavaradossi as well as seducing Tosca. Scarpia succeeded in cornering her and was almost gratifying his lust. However, he was stabbed to death by her unexpectedly.
🎸Scarpia is an utmost sadist that is well portrayed in his aria in Act 2. He sings;
“The violent conquest has more flavour than a mellifluous consent. I am hardly satisfied with sighs and milky lunar dawns. I don’t know how to draw chords from the guitar, nor flower fortune telling nor gaze longingly…”
🥃As such, he uses extreme fear not just to coerce citizens but rather to please himself.
🧤The veteran Scarpia singer, Željko Lučić, had performed at a number of world’s prominent theatres in Milan, New York, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Vienna. To make the contrast with Scarpia’s cruelty, Željko tried to bring the character down a bit, to show more elegance, like “a killer with white gloves”.

I’ll see you soon - Puck van Nieuwland
I wrote this song to thank my parents for everything they did for me, I am about to go on a life-changing journey, in a month i am moving to new york (if everything works out the way we planned it with documents and stuff). And this song is kind of a good-bye... but it’s also a re-assurance that i’ll be together with my family (and friends) real soon again. The song is not professional but it’s straight from the heart.. if anyone wants to hear the full song, feel free to send a DM❤️ #music#singersongwriter#singer#newyork#voice#journey
