From day one of training I’ve pretty much been saying this but it never fails the amount of dumb shit I see in the fitness realm(in person and ig). •
Basic principles tell us that progressive overload using mostly compound movements with beneficial secondary assistance exercises is our best way to make consistent progress across multiple areas. However, I don’t know if people want the easy way out/quick fix over and over, but they fail to understand this. In my opinion it’s a simple concept, yet I so rarely see many people committed to it.
Instagram has been a stain on quality fitness professionals in my opinion. It’s like this—‘Why should I listen to you(credible source) when there’s hundreds if not thousands (lack of credibility) that are doing this and that on their ig accounts?’ Well, the simple answer is that science and hard earned education within the field does not lie. It’s proven and effective and deserves to be trusted. And it doesn’t matter who the subject is. Physiological principles of the body apply to everyone. •
If you want consistent progress in your physique goals, strength gains, body composition, and better overall body function, you should be doing key compound movements done with quality form, mechanics, and done in a progressive volume scheme. Pair these lifts with beneficial secondary movements for your goals and iced with a little bit of isolation work and cardio conditioning, and you have everything you need for a solid, effective program.
Idk about you but I’m just a little tired of seeing people wasting time and money on ineffective group fitness classes, overusing resistance bands, zero credibility sources selling booty programs, and just general fuckery within fitness these days.
