Anna: My Sister the Serial Killer is as addictive as everyone promised it would be. Both the book and chapters are incredibly brief, but Braithwaite still manages to pack a huge punch. I had fun with this picture, because the contrast between sweet appearances and deadly intentions is an important player in this book.
This is really about the lengths that sisters and family would go to protect each other. Set in modern day Nigeria, it opens as Korede gets a call from her sister, Ayoola, who says she’s accidentally killed her boyfriend and asks Korede to help her clean up. We learn that this happened before, not only once, but two times. The book goes on to examine the relationship between mental health and social media, the long-term effects of physical and mental abuse, and women's roles in a patriarchal society. I also loved the twist at the end!
Hello fellow book lovers! Here is another book i finished this week. I loved this police procedural debut novel. Cat Kinsella is a detective working in London who is currently investigating a murder of a victim named Alice. Cat has other going on with her past and family and she is recently going to therapy due to her last case being traumatic. Upon, further investigation, they find out the victim is really named Maryanne Doyle. Maryanne went missing eighteen years ago in Ireland. Eighteen years ago Cat’s family was vacationing in Ireland and Maryanne was hanging around them during that time. After her disappearance, Cat’s father denied knowing anything about the girl. This ruined her relationship with her father. Cat is convinced her father is lying and goes on to investigate the past while she crosses police ethics and risks loosing her family too. This book keeps you intrigued and trying to find out what exactly happened to Maryanne Doyle all those years ago? This is a series and I can not wait to read what this detective will be investigating next! Pick this one up if you love mystery and crime fiction books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5. #book#booklover#booklove#booknerd#bookworm#bookish#bookishlife#read#reader#reading#readingislife#readstagram#currentlyreading#ilovebooks#ilovereading#idratherbereading#bookstagram#bookstagrammer#igbooks#alwaysreading#instaread#bookaholic#instabook#whatiread
Relationships matter to me. This is one of my favorite students.
I taught @shunhendrix in the 4th and 5th grade. He’s 21 now. I don’t care what he’s doing, he always comes through for me. I invited him to come speak to my scholars today.
In the last clip, he talks about how he saw @troubleman31 at an event, saw a chance to showcase his gift, and went for it. That one moment catapulted him into his destiny.
Even with success, he’s never changed. His parents did an awesome job raising him.
When I say you’re stuck with me for life, I mean that. 💚💚🍏
Love you, Crispus 😉
BOOK MAIL! It has been a hot minute since I bough a book....so I bought SEVEN! Isn’t getting new books in the mail the best feeling?! I have heard such great things about the Cruel Prince series so I figured I would give it a go even though it’s not in my normal go-to genre. I also wanted to try out a Tarryn Fisher book since she is Colleen Hoover’s BFF and CoHo is Queen! I wanted to get an awesome travel book since my boyfriend and I have the travel big together. And of course I had to get the new Reese Witherspoon book club pick for the month! Sprinkled in a few others and I am a happy girl! Have you read any of these?!? Would love to hear your opinions! Happy Reading Bees 🐝
Today’s wisdom from
the Akashic Guides🍃
“Recognize any distance that you feel,
you put it there.
You created it.
We don’t say this as criticism,
merely to allow you to see that it is your creation therefore you must destroy it.
It may feel challenging but it is essential
to moving forward.
We are your most intimate partners.
We know you better than you know yourself,
and perhaps that is why sometimes you can be intimidated by your relationship with us.
You know at a soul level that there are no secrets from us.
This can make you uncomfortable because you still operate from a place of perceived shame or guilt
Judging yourself for actions taken
or not taken.
We have never judged you
and never will.
This is the place for you to work.
Create the intention to ACCEPT
all encompassing LOVE for YOU.
Let it in as fully as possible.
The higher part of you,
already understands this
and is at ONE with us.
Your SPIRIT is leading your human self to this understanding.
The truth of who you are
your DIVINE self.
Your SPIRIT is at one and has already
made this connection
all you must do is ACCEPT that the work is complete and allow yourself to fully BE.”
