If you're leaning forward, pointing your toes, or reaching for the wheel, you're too far away. If you are bunched up with your chin on top of the steering wheel, you're too close. Use lumbar support for the curve of your back when possible. Adjust the head rest so the middle of your head rests against it. Your head shouldn't be more than 4 inches (10 cm) away from the headrest while driving. Keep your back against the seat and your head against the head rest. Your knees should be at the same level as your hips or slightly above. Good posture is also important for safety in the car. Let's explore this one-legged stretch which I feel prepared me for #ekpadasirsasana The .Drill.Drill.Drill *Relax and sit in CROSSED LEGS POSOTION. *Spread one leg forwards and the other in remains bend as it is. *Now gradually take the free leg forward and fold it and hold the knees. *Now breathe and fully open the leg as shown in the picture. Note. It may be a situation that you are not able to hold the toes immediately with your palms but as I always say give it time remain in the most comfortable position first and then keep challenging one notch higher. Benefits 🙂great for a knee warm up. 🙂can you feel that abdominal muscles are fully at work. Yes it tones up your abdomen and strengthens the internal organs there. 😉Of course, your legs -knees, calves and thighs are on work and this helps not only in strengthening but buikds the but makes it so flexible that you are alll set for #ekpadasirsasana. Now since it not mere stretch we are performing it like asana. It means:- 🌸I am completely conscious about the pose i.e. i am just focussing in this moment. 🌸breathe! 🌸take gentle steps. Slowly. Abhinaya has been basically, derived from the root word "Ni", which refers to take or carry, with the preposition "abhi" meaning towards. As per the traditional slokas, the root "Vi" with the preposition abhi, gives the word Abhinaya, whcih means to carry the performance towards the audience. Wow😍 that's Soo exciting to understand about Abhinaya.. not just this but as we all know there are 2 modes of Abhinaya - Natyadharmi, and Lokadharmi. While Natyadharmi is stylistic, lokadharmi is realistic in nature. Natyadharmi pertains to the conventions of the stage. However, don't set it so high that you push your chin out to see it. You may need to move your chair up or down if you can't angle the monitor properly. Adjust your chair and your position so that your arms are flexed, not straight out. Aim for roughly a 75- to 90-degree angle at the elbows. They can assist in space for breathing, a release in our hips and so on. That is of course when done correctly. One of my pet peeves as an educator is hearing “don’t use your glutes!” (WTF?!) Whoever is saying this please stop, also learn anatomy and the way hip extension is created. Seriously please look it up. For my students with low back issues... A. Speak up, if I have not approached you already we can maybe figure this out together B. Please speak up. Throwing yourself into a pose can literally exasperate an already underlying issue. Plus, my fave... “just because you can does not mean you should” C. Your legs do the work. Yes! That’s right for those that haven’t hear me say this in class. Your hip and shoulder flexibility/ strength will assist your back extension. A great many of us have low back issues. There are many reasons this can happen. Many medical reasons, many structure reasons, or really just plain ignorance. Ignorance being my main focus, learn how to use your body, your muscles, your attributes and limitations. Awareness will encourage safety. I was able to practice with my girl @financialyogi today, who is beautifully demonstrating a few drills we did to help her find more room and strength to assist her #kapotasana I am verbally cueing her here, however that being said I know Bree’s practice and where her limits and strengths are. This was meant specifically for her body, though the cues can be helpful for you out there experimenting ... your body may require different cues/ needs. Please know this. I love figuring you all out. When I teach class know that I have YOU in mind. I teach workshops and privates to encourage accountability as well as empower you to be curious enough to want to figure it out. Learning how to safely navigate or modify through your movement. DM if interested ✌🏼

Taking a small break every hour helps mitigate this and is best done outside where light can hit your eyes and skin. -- 👉Eat foods that nourish the brain, like wild salmon and other oily fish, blueberry's, and good quality nuts. -- 👉Resting your feet on a grounding pad if you're spending most of the day in front of the computer is an amazing thing to do for your health and wellbeing.
