I took a few days to gather my thoughts but it’s time for a review over the new @fentybeauty hydrating foundation!
First off, I want to say that I have slightly oily and acne-prone skin. I wanted to try this foundation because I thought it wouldn’t cling to my acne spots, which can be an issue for me. I was also under the impression that it would provide a medium and dewy finish to the skin. I watched a bunch of YouTube reviews before I bought it and felt confident that I would love it.
Unfortunately, this foundation is going back to Sephora 😞 I wore it three separate times and was immediately turned off each time. I find it to be full coverage (even with just one pump) which isn’t my preference. I also think it has a very matte finish - I typically put my foundation on top of my blush and bronzer but I had to reapply them each time I used this. Additionally, I found that my powder looked AWFUL on top of this foundation. Due to this, it basically immediately creased around my chin and forehead. Lastly, it has the classic Fenty fragrance and is pretty strong.
I wanted to love this product but it’s just not worth it for me to keep it since it did cost $35. I love every other Fenty product I’ve tried but I can’t get on board with their foundations 😢
Skincare I’m traveling with 🛫
I’m going to my sister for ~3 weeks and these are the things I’m bringing, in this cute little bag I got with my last Morphe order. I’m interested to see how fast I would use things with a “smaller makeup collection”. I will gonna use some of my sister’s matte shadows on top of this probably though
List of things:
Sensai brightening makeup base
Lumene Blur foundation
Makeup revolution concealer
Lumene Midsummer Glow bronzer
Catrice highlighter palette
Lumene brow gel
Lumene sensitive blueberry mascara
Color tattoo in pink gold
Essence crème blush
Yves Rocher eyeliner
Catrice and Yves Rocher lipstick
2x lip balms
✨Today’s #motd 🖤✨
I finished the matte side of the Bare Minerals face powders, so I moved onto this one from @elfcosmetics. I also gave up on panning the Ofra highlighter and switched to this smaller one from @beccacosmetics .
×UPDATE 3 FINISH IT BY FALL×
Today is the third update of the rolling 6 Finish It By Fall project, a pan collab with @ispypan !
This month, I didn't make much progress at all on any of my products😅 I lost one product, took the wrong picture of the wrong product and got very demotivated, so enjoy reading.
My Essence bronzer got the most uses this month. The product is showing hard pan so I have to scrape of the top layer.
MAC lipstick in Sushi Kiss.. I use this lipstick a lot and it's just not showing any progress. Not very motivated anymore to work with this product in a project pan😂
The Lush vegelene lipbalm I probably used only 2 times or so, I couldn't find it anywhere till yesterday (in a makeupbag that I took travelling 3 weeks ago). My Maybelline fit me concealer I use on the daily to cover spots. Really like the formula, colour is a little bit off.
My lady gaga perfume didn't use once this month. Whoops.
MAC blush in Pinch me. Funny story, took the wrong picture of the wrong product last month😂 So no progress to show.
Feel free to join the project pan by using the hashtag #finishbyfallproject.
@thebodyshop fuji green tea shower gel - the smell is very subtle and great! Came in a cute 4 pack gift set so is definitely a good deal if you like all the scents or want to share with your friends. I probably wouldn't purchase this at full price as there are other cheaper options that do the same thing but still very nice!
@garnierusa miscellar cleanser - very gentle and does the job. Not a bad cleanser just a little too gentle for me. I just prefer a deeper clean. Definitely would be good for senstive skin!
💄Paleta sombras “In the Nude” #W7. sombra 8 (Sombra 3 en esta paleta Frankenstein).
💄Made to Stay Smoothing lip polish Tono “010 Rose-Wood If She Cold” de #Catrice le he dado caña, pero aún queda.
💄Colorete en crema “Come to Town” (tono 1 is that you, santa?) de #Essence Ya casi esta!
Nor of sadness nor even of meaninglessness. Rather, the real root of suffering is this never-ending and pointless pursuit of ephemeral feelings, which causes us to be in a constant state of tension, restlessness and dissatisfaction. Due to this pursuit, the mind is never satisfied. Even when experiencing pleasure, it is not content, because it fears this feeling might soon disappear, and craves that this feeling should stay and intensify. People are liberated from suffering not when they experience this or that fleeting pleasure, but rather when they understand the impermanent nature of all their feelings, and stop craving them. This is the aim of Buddhist meditation practices. In meditation, you are supposed to closely observe your mind and body, witness the ceaseless arising and passing of all your feelings, and realise how pointless it is to pursue them. When the pursuit stops, the mind becomes very relaxed, clear and satisfied. All kinds of feelings go on arising and passing – joy, anger, boredom, lust – but once you stop craving particular feelings, you can just accept them for what they are. You live in the present moment instead of fantasising about what might have been. The resulting serenity is so profound that those who spend their lives in the frenzied pursuit of pleasant feelings can hardly imagine it. It is like a man standing for decades on the seashore, embracing certain ‘good’ waves and trying to prevent them from disintegrating, while simultaneously pushing back ‘bad’ waves to prevent them from getting near him. Day in, day out, the man stands on the beach, driving himself crazy with this fruitless exercise. Eventually, he sits down on the sand and just allows the waves to come and go as they please. How peaceful!
