This colorful apron is made from a Custom print called “Round the Garden” by Mary Engelbreit. The bright colors and simple garden themed silhouettes give it such a cheerful feeling 😊 I’m trying to hang onto that summer garden cheer for as long as I can. But honestly, I’m starting to become sad about the seasons changing. Well not necessarily sad 😭 but definitely bothered! I know fall has a lot of great things to offer, like cooler temperatures and increasing holiday spirit, but I’m in a panic to make my garden grow while there’s still time! Although I do have a small fall garden planted, it’s the loss of floral blooms 🌸 that I think bothers me the most! This apron at least reminds me that spring will come back in a few months. 🥰
September 7, 2019. The morning of the hot air balloon race was a flurry. There was a 6:15am pilot meeting at the Quality Inn to discuss targets and times. The 4 targets would be open from 7:30-8:30. Grabbing the ring from the pole would yield $10,000 (nobody has gotten it in the 24 year history of this event.). After the meeting ended, Captain Al’s (our pilot) adrenaline was pumping. We got into his balloon rig, looking at the map on the way to figure out where would be a good launch site. We parked at the Kum and Go to release a helium filled piball balloon that would show the wind direction aloft. We figured a spot to take off based on that and the map angles to the prized ring. Long story short, the winds changed once the sun started rising and no one got the ring again this year!! Al landed and we helped him pack up his balloon. The crew had breakfast at the Ranch House in town. We all met again the next morning at the Quality Inn at 6:15 and the race for that day was canceled because the winds were too high. Until next year.... #ozarklife
