Things have been rough with cosplay lately 😔. No motivation to do any since I down graded to an apartment. Cancelled a lot of cons to compensate for my last few semesters of college. Ugghh... weather has been terrible as well to finish a client's Commission. As of right now I'm not sure what I'm going to do convention nor cosplay-wise. I'm just hoping that I'll be able to do something soon. I miss working on this stuff 😕. I don't mean to be negative in this post guys but it's been extremely hard to work on stuff in my apartment. I have a designated spot to continue working but it's not ready yet and I don't know when it will be ready. I just hope we'll be able to work on the stuff again soon. My girlfriends Hammer project was not only my latest but still my favorite build. #cosplay#cosplayer#cosplaylife#rwby#rwbycosplay#nora#noravalkyrie#noravalkyriecosplay#norahammer#propbuilder#cosplayprop#floridacosplayer#flcosplayer
This isn’t my typical post, but here are some prop WIP photos!
1.) Dva headset. It’s still a work in progress but the basic paint and shapes are on. I’m going to touch and clean it up once it dries.
2.) Nora Valkyrie hammer. It’s being painted before I add the pipes to the inside and the detail. I still need to clean and paint the handle as well as pieces of the back.
3.) SORAKA STAFF REMAKE. This one I’m the most proud of. It looks A MILLION times more accurate than my last one. I was able to take a little more time on this one so it looks so good; especially compared to my last one.
If you guys like WIP photos let me know! I’d love to post more of them.
In honor of finally binging RWBY Vol. 5 with my girlfriend today, here's a fun fact about my last build: The hammer head is designed to detach from the handle for easy transportation. Since this Hammer stands more than 6 feet tall, it's a life saving feature when driving to cons. So how did I do it? Inside the hammer head is a wooden base, the base is made out of thick wood and all glued together with wood glue. The wooden base is then glued to the foam hammerhead with contact cement. When attaching the two together, there's a hole in the bottom to slip a part of the handle through. There are also 2 L shaped metal hinges where a hole I bored into the handle will align with the two, and then a 3 inch screw with a wing nut will secure the hammer head to the pole. This design enables my Nora Valkarie to swing her hammer at full force and not cause the hammer head to go flying for miles. 😁 #cosplay#cosplayer#cosplaylife#rwby#rwbycosplay#nora#noravalkyrie#noravalkairecosplay#norahammer#rwbyweapon#roosterteeth#cosplayprop#propbuilder#flcosplayer#floridacosplayer
