This was our sweet ice cream adventure from earlier this week when I had you all asking, guessing, wondering where the heck this bonnet came from 😆 #sorrynotsorry It’s a lining to a bonnet for Saturday’s release & I wanted to capture it for you all because it is BEAUTIFUL! This releases linings, I think, are some of the best I’ve ever done 🙌🏻
So, keep reading if you’re interested in how you can get a peek at those linings before Saturday.
I try my very best to make all of my bonnets reversible but not all of them are, the bonnet you see here is the lining to a lace bonnet. When working with preloved & vintage fabric sometimes the materials do not lend themselves to having printed or even solid colored linings. If the fabric is too thin the lining could show through & change the color of the actual bonnet. If the outer material is too thick I have to pick a thin cotton to line the bonnet so it still fits well... I could go on and on with the factors that go into how I design a bonnet. But, for the most part, I try to make all of the lace, cotton (meaning not embroidered ones) & brimmed bonnets reversible. We're lining them anyways, might as well save more textiles from waste & make them pretty! 🙌🏻
If the linings are something that interests you, TODAY at 10 am EST I will be doing a live stream where I lay out all of the bonnets, chat about linings, sizing, materials, the website & anything else you guys may want to ask me (within reason!)
I will be adding the gender neutral bonnets to the preview today, so be on the lookout for those. Mom & Marc tested the new die cutting machine yesterday & I could cry knowing how much easier it will make production 😭 we still have a lot to learn & Marc will need to digitize the rest of the patterns but this is a HUGE step forward. Also, Mom’s industrial machine is working perfectly, too. Good things are happening, guys, really good things. And although I feel like I could sleep for days I think it’s a good thing, I think it’s because a huge weight has been lifted off of me & my body knows I can rest a bit. That’s a good feeling. But no resting until AFTER the live stream! Who’s ready!? See you all at 10am EST 🤗
Where’s your village at? They say it takes a village and it sure bloody does! They keep you sane, grounded and guided ✨I’d be so lost without my villagers especially when life throws you curve balls. A pic from my session with
@something.by.kate and her sis @allinwonderland87 sharing the journey together 💕
His grins make my heart melt and my ovaries think it’s time for another baby 🤦🏻♀️ instead of writing down all the wonderful memories I should start tracking all the sleepless nights, screaming fits, naughty things, broken items, and lack of self care. But damn, he is just so cute!
Aston had his first trip to the beach - out of the pram - this week. Madeleine was excited, Aston was a bit meh about it all. She’s talking about teaching him to swim and bodyboard this summer... I didn’t have the heart to burst her bubble 🥰
Got a lot of questions regarding Jaxsons operation yesterday and I am pleased to tell you all - it went really well. The doctor was shocked at how big his adenoids and tonsils really were and said it was obstructing his ability to breath properly, which has a string of negative effects. He came into the ward sleeping and slept a good two hours. He woke up, cried 10 seconds and then he settled. He immediately asked for bottle and food so we gave it to him - and boy did he eat! Poor kid was so hungry. We got home around 15:00 yesterday after the discharged us and around 16:00 he started complaining of pain - and we could only give him meds at 18:00! After a lot of distracting and @blippiofficial - he bathed, got his meds and passed out until this morning 6am. Got his meds again and all is right with the world - he has been fine all day and I am SO grateful - especially since I have little Amelia to tend to as well. So tips for the next 10 days will REALLY be appreciated ❤️ .
Also, we got home to a little parcel from @dandylionkids that made me tear up. Many days I feel I dont deserve the extra spoils we get - like this one. Little Wildling tee’s. @lanisteyn_livingmybestlife - it has been said so many times but you are one INCREDIBLE woman! You support, you listen, you love immensely and your caring heart has meant so much to SO many people. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart❤️❤️
