The last time I had a mental health wobble ... it lead to amazing things....I’m keeping the faith
For those who I’ve spoken to the last few days, you will know that my anxiety has been hitting the roof for about 4 days now.... I’ve done the classic... “taking it to bed” thing I do ... crying uncontrollably and panicking cause my heart is racing at a concerning rate.... I’ve not been well at all.
I know I need to listen to what my sub consciousness is telling me, it’s been nagging at me for some time, when change is on the horizon I’m like a stubborn toddler refusing to see it, and sometimes the universe has to step in and make change happen .... so bear with me guys .... I’m ok .... I just need to stop having hideous heart palpitations and sort my ongoing finance issues out (money triggers my anxiety worries) ..... I will be smiling about all this soon I’m sure, but for now I’m staying in bed where I’m safe and can heal my head a bit ❤️ #mentalhealth#anxiety#fuckyoudepression
I am in a bit of a Rollercoaster stage, yesterday was good and the day before I had energy, but I guess that now that I just up all that energy, I am pooped today, and it's alright, it is hard to accept but you just have to, that's how you will ever be able to just relax, accept it, it's not always easy and that's okay
Each of us have our own vibration, our own frequency. What vibe do you want to have? 💁♀️〰️ Did you know that everything in this world has a different energetic vibration, everything vibrates at its own frequency? 💡
What we bring into our lives, what we put into our bodies, the people we choose to surround ourselves with, all have their own vibration. These can affect our own vibrations.
What vibe do you want to have? We can be high vibe individuals, or low vibe individuals. The choice is yours ✌️
Whenever you’re tempted to dwell on the past, repeat this single word: Forward.
When you’re tempted to indulge in a sinful act, swap it for one that will progress you FORWARD.
Remember, “With difficulty comes ease.” - (94:6)

Taking positive steps today!
1) Went for a walk and read at the beach when the temptation to stay home was strong
2) Reading a book to understand how to be more positive. Three strategies from the book are:
- Challenge my thinking logically: e.g. Is it really catastrophic that I overate for four days?
- Challenge it behaviourally by doing the opposite:
e.g. I believe that I have to eat to escape the thoughts. Challenge this by doing something else.
- Goal focused thinking: e.g. are my current actions helpful for the future goal?
3) I cooked chicken fajita for the next few days!
This week's goal:

Yes. This ⬆️⬆️⬆️ All my life I have been seen as very high functioning.
The word anxiety can also be changed to depression. "High functioning depression" is really hard. You don't get help, won't be believed. I was at my drs appointment in a couple of months ago, trying to tell him how I feel. But it didn't show, my feelings were only words in my non-showing face. I have a family that I take care of everyday, but as I still do that I can't be that depressed, right? 🤦🏻♀️As I do what I have to do, as I still go to appointments, as I still get up in the morning, I can't be that depressed, right? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
f you’re simply choosing to clean and organise things on your house or whatever your habit is, that’s not OCD. People with OCD would prefer to not being these behaviours, but it feels out of their control and very distressing.
Constantly rearranging items or insisting on even numbers not because they don’t like things out of order, but because they fear something horribly wrong would happen if they don’t do so.
If you’ve ever labelled yourself or a friend as OCD in passing because you love sparkly counterparts, the chances that you’ve the high anxiety, debilitating disorder.
Please refrain from using the word OCD, as synonym for clean or organised or orderly, as it diminishes the symptoms of a person suffering with OCD. It most certainly also leaves society more confused about mental health disorders.

Thinking has never been a problem for me, but overthinking has, particularly when it gets in the way of action. @grantcardone hit the nail on the head at the @successresourcesaustralia conference last month when he said “The action you take today will make you the person you’ll be tomorrow. It’s not what you think, it’s not what you know, it’s what you do.” So stop thinking about it, and fucking go do it 🦅

In particular, dedicating time and energy to developing a healthy relationship with food, a well-planned sustainable training routine, and a positive mindset.
Katie is currently a personal trainer at Les Mills in Auckland, specialising in creating strength through adherence and mastery of basic functional movements.

THE SURREAL SELF
"I get bored of seeing my own face" Is the quote from Kanye West that first inspired this piece. It got me thinking how surreal and strange it must really be to have all these videos and photos of yourself often at your worst and best being replayed over and over as a part of public record, almost taking a life of their own as people interpret them in different ways. I can only imagine the almost eerie feeling of seeing so many warped versions of yourself in a way creating a media self that takes your qualities that the public see as most entertaining and exaggerate them to eventually become a caricature of the original self. But what's interesting about Kanye is that in some ways he seems to embrace this. Kanye often talks about after hes gone, his legacy and impact on the world he'll eventually leave behind. Kanye doesn't seem to be afraid of things that other celebrities are like speaking his mind at questionable times and fear of losing his money or fame. But perhaps he embraces his fear of not being able to achieve all he can while hes here as motivation to do as much as possible, and embraces his many "media surreal Self's" as leaving behind as many pieces of himself as possible to fight his fear of being forgotten. It's not often you see an artist who's both true to their craft and hugely embrace the lime light and fame. Love him or hate him, you must admit there's a reason why he stands out.
