I did *not* feel like working out today. A) It was raining, so I wanted to be in a blanket burrito watching Netflix or reading and B) I tweaked my knee playing sharks and minnows this week (you know...a kids game...😑). It was leg day so I initially had the mentality of “Well if I can’t go 310%, it’s not even worth it.” - which actually doesn’t make any sense. Sure I had to modify around my knee but I got it done anyway and feel way better. Moral of the story: Earn your right to be in a blanket burrito 🌯
New training program means doing push and pull in one session, kinda like it but it will take some time getting use to it! It’s good in the sense that you can recover quicker and actually as a result you can fit more sets in!
Ya know why do a leg day that is going to kill you off for the next 3 days and then impact your next leg session? Instead you could do the same amount of sets but spread across the week! 🤷♀️ Just a bit of food for thought! James smith in his podcast talks about it and it does make sense if you think about it!
You have to look after your body as you only have one! Putting too much stress on yourself can lead to injury’s and so on. Think about a car if you drove it at its max speed every time you took it out the engine would soon pack up, it’s the same with your body if you push it to the max every single session hitting pr after pr then you’re gunna burn out sooner or later! So set yourself achieveable goal and actually enjoy yourself 💪

Leg day calls for lots of foods folks!! Digging into this bowl of cinnamon-turmeric oats with peaches, blueberries, flax seeds, nuts & raisins after a killer gym sesh is probably one of my fav things ever 🍑 I’ve only been lifting consistently for a few months but for those curious here was my leg day workout today:
5x5 sumo squats
Cut weight in half and sumo squat amrap
4x10 sumo dead lifts
4x10 barbell hip thrusts
3x8 Bulgarian split squat SS 8 jumping split squats
4x8 cable abduction into curtesy lunge
ALSO one of the strong asf ladies at the gym I always see (6am crew is loyal af 😤😤) was wearing a VEGAN shirt today!! So ... boom new friend 🥑🍌🍒 she said she always tries to wear vegan shirts to the gym to show that you don’t need meat to make gains and I was like !!!! YAS QUEEN! 🙏🌤😤 anyways. This workout literally left my legs achy for daysss 😅 Although you might see me go to a lot of classes on IG, the bulk of my training is actually weight training at the gym. I love just smashing out my own session, pushing my limits and doing it to my own time. It’s important to do exercises that work towards your goals, so free feel to tweak any exercises 💪🏼

2️⃣ BB Hip thrusts 10x5 SS DB sumo squats 12-15x4
