I heard something the other day, something that’s been rattling around inside me. I keep tripping over the thought of it throughout my day and even sometimes when I wake up at night. It’s wasn’t my truth until I heard in and accepted it but it’s mine to live by now.
Here it is: There is light and dark, there is good and evil and it’s in each and every one of us. The dark isn’t always showing up as the darkest of dark, worst of evil. The dark in us can show up all day long when we don’t even notice it. The dark shows up in us when we talk negatively to ourselves and when we put ourselves down — even in our heads. The light is our goodness, our positive vibes, our joy, our love, our peace and all the times we are being kind to ourselves. When we’re dark to anyone else or to ourselves that is the dark winning over the light. — I’m working on my light and reminding myself when I feel the dark that I don’t have to choose that. The most beautiful part in this is — when there is a little dark in a room full of light you can hardly take notice (even in ourselves). However, when there is a tiny light in the darkest of spaces it’s obvious and we walk towards it.
Choosing myself, choosing light. How does this idea sit with you?

This is to all my go-getters, dreamers, and rockstars out there... You're simply the best. You blow my mind. We're all standing here in total awe. How you hold it together under pressure. How you face up to your challenges. And your rebound ability is that of a determined toddler..😂(which is solid af). You're driven, persistent, and strong. Unique, wild, fun. Compassionate, sympathetic, understanding.
You’re just plain unstoppable.
And you always have time for others. (You're the total package. Even when you think, feel, or say you're anything but!) Soooo... How 'bout cutting yourself some slack every now and then? #youblowmeaway#rockstarstatus#toallmydreamers#keepgoing#leadwithheart#yougotthisgirl
Act on those dreams!
If you can't make it to our 70th Anniversary Celebration Mass on Sunday, September 22, you have the opportunity to watch it LIVE on Sacred Heart Academy's Facebook page at 10 a.m. Visit www.facebook.com/SacredHeartLI/
This weekend I thought a lot about fear. Starting my own business, taking on more clients every week, integrating new procedures, all push me to the limits of my comfort. There’s a voice inside that urges me to just shut down, to run away, to play small. 🗣 What edges in your life do you feel anxious coming up against? Leaving your job? A new big project?
Elizabeth Gilbert once explained that she doesn’t expect her fear to be quiet when she’s living big, but she also doesn’t give it the drivers seat or even the shotgun. She lets it sit in the back seat, it can talk... but it doesn’t get to drive, take up too much attention, eat snacks, or make decisions about the road trip 🚙💨.
Fear is inevitable and a part of our hardwiring as humans. But the attention and energy we give it is our choice. And determines the risks we take and ultimately the quality of our life. How much attention and investment do you give to your fearful thoughts? Take notice today and become curious about it 🌟.
Doing what's right should always be our first priority. If employees are direct reflections of our values we embody as leaders, I believe this should be our number one quality. Doing what's right trumps always being right. How do you display honesty and integrity to your clients and employees?

Just a friendly reminder to lead with your heart both today & in life in general. Because I truly believe that it’s always right no matter how illogical or silly it may seem at the time. Anything from a place of love is bound to work out for the best in the end.

Building a legacy is a decision and as a leader, teacher, parent, coach or boss takes me asking these genuine questions daily.
who am I here to serve?
how do I serve them?
what do we want to accomplish?
It’s time to be clear about our mission because there is real work here and it’s time to do it. #mindyourbusiness#leadwithheart#swHw#socialcurator#momwithamission
When we're empathetic, we naturally care about others. Exceptional leaders ask others how they are doing, what they need, and what they feel. This leads to trust, a feeling of support, and when people feel supported they feel empowered to be successful.
Why did I take my first Yoga Teacher Training? I was pretty content as a personal trainer and group fitness leader ( @canfitpro). I had done extra training in kettlebells ( @agatsufitness). Things were going well but I still felt a little restless. I was looking for a change.
Luckily I had taken some amazing classes with Jennifer Lynn at @WisdomFlowYoga and thought the 200 hour training might be an interesting next step.
It was such a joyful and transformative experience! The work was challenging, and helped me stretch from my comfort zone into my growth zone. The benefits of the deep-dive into yoga philosophy and practice spilled over into all areas of my life. Alignment, anatomy, and movement education has helped me with my physical endeavours (strength training, running, surfing). The meditation practices help me find ease and relief in how I relate to my thoughts. I feel so empowered by this self-honouring practice. So, taking the course was a good choice for me, and just what I needed during that time of restlessness.
Interested in learning more about whether a 200-hour teacher training might be a good fit for you? Reach out with any questions you may have about this or other trainings, I’m an open book 📖
For me personally, September 11 was a reminder that life is fleeting, impermanent, and uncertain. Therefore, we must make use of every moment and nurture it with affection, tenderness, beauty, creativity, and laughter. If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.
Love what you do, focus on your passions, be consistent, and money will follow.
Theme of the week will be all about starting something new. Action, persistence, conquering your fear, and championing change are all qualities of effective leaders, especially when starting a new venture.
Your inner people-pleaser feeds off fear.
It takes the fear that could be fueling you into bigger and bolder things, if you’d let it, and it eats it up while keeping you here, in the same place you’ve always been.
When we say “yes” out of fear, we are not 𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 it, we’re just leaving it on the table to do what it does best: fester and feed.
Unacknowledged fear is like your DoorDash leftovers. It gets left out to rot in the shadows where creatures with names like “people pleaser” and “procrastination” lurk, waiting to make you feel sick and tired.
The first time I said “no,” after going into business for myself, I hung up the phone and ran into the room where my boyfriend was watching TV and yelled “I did it!” I had be so afraid of saying no to ANYTHING that it felt like a therapy couch breakthrough moment. For the last few months, I’d felt like I needed to be open to any project, even if it spread me too thin, and any client, even if it wasn’t a good match. Funny enough: I had been doing the same sort of thing in my personal life.
I had let my fear feed all the wrong parts of me.
Rather than let my fear fuel my drive to take risks or be bold, I let it feed things that kept me feeling stuck personally and professionally. It wasn’t until I was willing to grab my fear off the table and take it with me into my business decisions and pursuit of self care that I felt 100% committed to them.
How will YOU use your fear this week?

How can He bless me when I'm straining to look over His shoulder into what's next?
Dreaming isn't dangerous, but camping out there is and simply put ... means I'm wandering and missing out.
God is not surprised that we tend to make our own path, but based on past experiences, what He has in store, beats my plan every. single. time. 🙌
God, help me to be faithful to the process and to embrace my place today and every day. 🙏

What if everyone was all of themselves + celebrated each other for it?
What would our world look like?
I imagine it as an impromptu parade where everyone is dressed up, dancing around, enjoying life + living from their BODY instead of from their MIND
How do you imagine it?
LEMME KNOW 👇🏼👇🏼
Day 43 done 🔥 had to do some catch up with day 42 too! 🔥🔥
It’s not easy making ourselves a priority everyday and I told myself at the beginning of this program that on days I struggled to get up and do it that I wouldn’t feel guilty for not pressing play.
The beauty of this is that I can catch up easily and I have!
I can’t let my off days effect my progress or happiness, I push through them and move on to the next. That’s the beauty of a new day...it’s a new day to recreate myself.
I’m almost at the halfway mark of my program and I’m feeling proud to have stuck with it. Day 100 I’m coming for ya and on that day I’m popping some champagne 🍾
Rarely do I post the same exact words on two different social media platforms. Today, is different. This was raw & from the heart and needs to be duplicated
I think I’m still in shock.
Sorry I’ve been quiet the last couple of days.
I was soaking it all in.
What do I mean? I was trying to wrap my head around how ONE WORD has changed everything. By having a desire to be the best me, a realization that I was made for more & the belief in myself that I WILL succeed ... I said YES.
I wish I could have brought you all with me Saturday & Sunday to experience all the things I did. I so desire to one day be side by side with you as YOU experience what this weekend was like for me.
Our Founders traveled from Florida to Michigan to celebrate, train & get to know us! I didn’t have to stand in line to shake their hand or take a picture. I didn’t have to hope & pray I get a glimpse of them from 200 rows away on a stage. In fact, we talked about legos & animated movies😄
They knew my name. They hugged me. They talked to me like I was their best friend they had known for years. And now, I’m crying.
Not only did I get the opportunity to be in the presence of greatness, but I had the chance to share in with a new group of friends & leaders that I now call family.
I was asked to sit on a panel to share my story, my tips & best advice. I was able to hear from others and truly get moved my their words and the actions they put behind it.
I cry because I’ve finally found HOME. For some, they may always wander aimlessly. And, I’m thankful everyday that I’m on the right path & I’m right where I’m meant to be❤️
Sometimes we only move and let go of what’s no longer serving us when it becomes so unbearable and uncomfortable to hold up
❌ That relationship that you knew wasn’t for you but stuck around anyways hoping it would “get better”
❌ That program you thought your audience wanted and was “totally marketable” but felt so heavy and out of alignment to promote
❌ That gnawing on your mind as you try to figure out what’s happening
...it’s uncomfortable because you’re being called to MOVE
To do what God really called you to do and be where you were called to be and become who you were called to become
Nothing is a coincidence
It’s a calling⚡️⚡️⚡️
And what isn’t working is a shakeup for what is ❤️
