I’m contemplating combining Neon Pothos & Marble Queen Pothos together to intertwine as a totem, or a cascade. 🤔 I’ve been thinking about it for awhile & now I can visually see it....Im totally feeling it 😍😍😍
Say buh-bye to my little friend. Swipe 👉 to see the damage.
My #prayerplant was doing great until the last couple of weeks. I noticed the leaves were starting to become speckled with white spots and growing slowly. I thought it was just #rootbound because there were roots coming out the bottom of the nursery pot, and it was definitely outgrowing the pot.
I went to #repot and found small knobs on the roots and little wormy things on the roots and in the bottom of the cover pot. After some googling discovered that my plant had #rootnematodes !
Root nematodes are parasites that suck the life out of your plant and are pretty much impossible to get rid of.
Sadly, my only option was to dispose of one of my favorite plants to prevent other plants from being contaminated.
Spot root nematodes early by:
1. Spread the word about these little devils.
2. Check your roots periodically, look for knobs on the roots, fuzzy roots, and wormy things.
3. Check your cover pots for dead wormy things.
Saying farewell to my calathea roseopicta medallion. For months I tried to revive and take extra care of her but my effort was of little or no avail. When i first started my indoor gardening journey, the first plant I got was the calathea rufibarba, which eventually died, but tried my luck with this variety as I heard they are easier to take care of. Fast forward to now, I've learnt my lesson the hard way. Note to self: "Do your research first before you pick up another calathea." Plants are living things, although they stay rooted in one place, they too have needs. I feel guilty for not being able to give this plant the life it deserved. But hopefully one day, someday, I will get to that point in this journey. #houseplantsofinstagram#houseplanthobbyist#houseplantdiary#houseplantnz#houseplantcommunity#houseplanthobbyist#blackthumbgardener#ikillplantstoo#houseplants
What’s everyone have propagating at the moment??? .
I’ve got to say that Iresine Herbstii|Bloodleaf is ridiculously easy to propagate. Completely opposite to Snow Queen Pothos for me in this attempt. Mines a stubborn plant, stubborn in propagation too 😒
I love being home but I also love being surrounded by trees, leaves and dirt. House plants are kind of like having my cake and eating it, too.🤷 Being home but still getting to enjoy plants? 🙌 yes plz
Side note: i didn't totally understand the obsession with monsteras but now that I have one I get it. I am here for the monstera trend 💯
Got a new baby the other day to join my other baby!!!
. Meet Pocahontas my Golden Pothos, and you’ve already seen Lysander my Coleus.
.P.S Pothos are great for air purifying!!! 🌱💕
.P.S.S. Pothos are not that great for furry kids, so keep them up high!!🐶🐱
An interesting lesson in propogating!
These dracaena reflexa cuttings were started using two different mediums - water on the left and soil with rooting hormone on the right. The variety in overall size and quantity of roots are much different than I expected!
