"Small steps in the right direction, are always better than big steps in the wrong direction.." ⁣ ⁣ Not that I profess to have a clue, but regularly enough I'll get a message asking how to start, where to begin, what changes to make..⁣ ⁣ I will 99.9% of the time give the same general answer.⁣ That it doesn't have to be something drastic, that there isn't some secret illuminati designed secret, which I sometimes feel gets a bit of an underwhelming response..⁣ ⁣ Sometimes I feel that people want the difficult (near on impossible) changes, the gruelling regime, the navy seal style training, because maybe a part of them wants it to be hard as to have an excuse if it fails, I genuinely don't know..⁣ ⁣ It doesn't have to be crazy shake diets or totally removing any food that tastes better than cardboard from your diet..⁣ ⁣ That it's not about doing 8 hours a day in the gym, just because that's what Arnold did when training for the Olympia..⁣ ⁣ That it doesn't mean you can never even look at your favourite foods again as you walk down the Tesco aisles..⁣ ⁣ I tell pretty much every to start tracking their calories even if its just to have that 'ah ha' moment that white bread isn't the devil, or that protein bars are magical negative calories..⁣ ⁣ I tell pretty much everyone to get out and walk a little.. I know it's starting to get dark and grey out, but you've a hoodie buddy.. I seen ya in on in your photos... Gotcha 😉⁣ ⁣ Eat a little less calorically..⁣ ⁣ Get out and move a little more..⁣ (Which also helps by filling up that time you woulda spent on the couch munchin on treats with another activity) ⁣ ⁣ Be a little bit better, even if just 1%, this week than you were last and so on..⁣ Those tiny, easy to apply and sustain 1% changes, add up like crazy over time..⁣ ⁣ Just keep taking those steps in the right direction 🏃‍♂️⁣ ⁣ #MAKEMOVESDONTMAKEEXCUSES

These particular cookies have a nice nutty background flavor from the hemp seeds, and talk about a powerhouse set of ingredients - hemp, coconut and chia! Being present with the eating experience is one of the major factors that allows us to acknowledge and appreciate food. . . Overindulgence has only come about due to processed foods being extremely cheap and readily available. Of course in some cases for some people this allows survival. For the majority of us, we have a choice to make conscious decisions about what we eat and how we eat it. . . Never live to eat food. Food is there to fuel us and keep us alive and going. We must all lose the attachment to certain things we think we like and start to appreciate the importance of food for overall health and wellbeing. . . My personal journey into wellness started off with a gnawing awareness of the ramifications if we don't take heed of what we eat, how we eat, and how we live. . . Firstly, I started cutting down the refined carbs - what has been found to consistently spike insulin levels, is commonly sold without question, and are known to be purveyors of empty calories and lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and cancer. . . I go for long black when it comes to coffee. Brewed from scratch, not found in instant 3-in-1 formulations, coffee black without sugar or tea black without sugar are my preferred beverage choices. Warm water will do just as well if I didn't feel like the caffeine or have had too much throughout the day. . . I look for places which are happy to bespoke their menus with healthier subs. For as many as those who don't or won't, there are just as many now which are easy about replacing the refined carbs with more live foods, e.g. salads. If we ask. . . For other food items that can't be intuitively or easily substituted, such as burgers, I just skip the buns altogether and enjoy what's in between. I ordered a pulled pork burger and just thoroughly enjoyed the inner layers, that is, the pulled pork, egg, and slaw. Which was awesome without the guilt of empty calories and the risk of spikes. . . I didn’t plan it this way, but this tank is actually quite fitting because I went from actual shots on Saturday night at the bachelorette party to squats during my workout yesterday. . I was cursing the cardio but it was actually wonderful to sweat out the alcohol and feel surprisingly really great yesterday #reallife 😂... . That was a true example of choosing my hard yesterday. I mean let’s be honest, it’s hard to press play on a 25 minute cardio workout but it’s a helluva lot harder to feel like crap all day. I’m seriously LOVING the new Morning Meltdown program because I know that no matter what I’m going to get a great workout in during those 20-30 minutes and I will no doubt feel a lot better when I’m done. . Whatever it means for us personally, let’s choose our hard today, friends! 💪🏼
