Meditation 🧘♂️, yoga, gym workouts 🏋️♀️ , cold showers🚿 , spiritual practice 💫, learning 📖... All these practices, as amazing as they may be, are not the answer. At least not on their own.
It’s really important to understand that these personal growth or self-care practices that are promoted so heavily now, are not the end result! Let me explain.. I was inspired to create this post because I have noticed this pattern in a lot of people who are obsessed with trying to pack as many of these kinds of practices into each day. And when they miss a day, they are frustrated and they beat themselves up!
Perhaps they too have heard about the importance of mirroring the practices of high achieves. And they believe that by doing the practices a lot of successful people do they will get the same result.
But here is the punchline: All these practices are tools. They are means to an end.
If you do a great meditation today, eat super clean and write out 100 affirmations but you don’t get out in the world (or online, depending on your business) and make a difference in someone else’s life and add value in some way, eventually you will become fed up with doing the practices. Can you relate to this at all?
If you have followed me for a while or know me at all, you would know that I am a little obsessed with my daily rituals.
But what I have learned is that they are all tools that allow us to go out and be more effective in the world.
The idea of mirroring successful people is very popular now. However if you really study successful people, they do those practices so they build resistance, direct their focus, manage their energy and emotions so they can step out in the world and get big things done.
Of course what it means to be successful is different for everyone. So long as you can see that your practices are stepping stones to something bigger, then you will have the fire in your belly necessary to sustain doing them.
It’s a very powerful loop.

Due to having so many other important things to do I was considering missing the gym and getting other “stuff” done....but then I said this out loud and it hit me...my health and my fitness is just as important (if not more so) than anything else....did I regret going NO I DID NOT!!
