So a really common question we hear from most Academy beginners is "What is the strength class?" The Academy Strength class is a 60 minute class where you are guided through a freeweights routine by an Academy coach. Its a class where the intensity is a little lower, and the focus is on safe and effective weightlifting. You will normally complete two different exercises back to back with a partner, rest, and then repeat 2-3 times before moving onto the next 2 exercises. You are able to work at your own pace (within reason!) and have the support of a coach by your side as you train. The routines change as the academy progresses and some lifts may become more technical as your fitness improves, as well as the set and rep ranges changing in order to challenge your body in different ways. Don’t be that person “you’re already skinny, why are you even training” - because they want to.⠀ ⠀ It’s the same with eating, don’t be a dick and make your friend who is tracking her macros feel like a nuisance - “why are you on a diet, you’re so skinny babes!! - because she WANTS to be.⠀ ⠀ There’s already enough dickheads in society, if you see someone trying to achieve their health and fitness goals & giving it a red hot crack - encourage them, don’t shame them.⠀ ⠀ #upliftbyiz
