Hey you!! Yes you!! I’ve been where you are - starting out, overwhelmed and falling into the comparison trap. So I wanted to give you a little reminder that you are a badass and beautiful human for getting up, showing up and facing whatever demons are trying to knock you down.
You are strong, determined and dedicated. You are brave, smart, and beautiful.
Babe, you are killing it while trying to balance life and everything else in between. So do me a favor - go easy on yourself and know that whatever you are doing right now is enough. You are enough and you have everything you need within you to reach your goals.
Because if I could do it - trust me - so can you!
The hilarious thing is that in this picture I look like a damn unit. In reality, I was a size 10 and teeny tiny!
Don’t be fooled guys, what you see isn’t always what is real. People think muscle makes you huge when in actual fact it’s so incredibly dense. It takes up a lot less room than fat does. Most of us know it these days, but we still are scared of weights. Question next time you think you see a huge rig, I can guarantee if you ran into them down the street you’d be shocked at their actual size.
Genetically I hold muscle really well, for many years I hated it. Now, I appreciate it. Not because I think it looks sexy or great, but because of what it represents.
To me it represents a woman becoming comfortable and confident within herself.
Someone who’s not afraid to go against the grain and work hard for what she wants.
Someone who has developed a great understanding of the human body and it’s processes and deeply appreciated it function.
Most importantly, someone who’s awakened to what she’s really fucking capable of and anytime can dip into that pool of kickarseness and go get it 😁

Before anyone comments on the fact that my back is rounding and the associated risk of injury let me learn you something. -------------------------------------------------------------
Every exercise has an injury risk associated with it. The selection is made based on the analysis of the risk/reward of the exercise. In this case the benefit I get from this exercise far outweighs any risk I'm taking. You'll notice I'm doing this with 40kg which is weight I can easily do biceps curls with for sets of 15. So the load bearing capacity of my tissues being exercised puts me at virtually no risk. -------------------------------------------------------------
Beyond that, I am still bracing by using the valsalva maneuver. The exercise is done for high volume to pump up my back and speed up recovery. So is it really a risky exercise? Well, it depends on the context. How it's been implemented into my program I would say no. If I were to start increasing the load and doing 5RM's with this technique then I can see the risk factor potentially increasing. -------------------------------------------------------------
Use this exercise if you have good core bracing ability and good motor awareness. Use light weights and focus on getting a pump and avoid hitting heavy weight. It will strengthen the hell out of your erectors and abdominals. 🏋🏻♂️
If you have never deadlifted...This is definitely how the way up feels compared to the way down! I hope you enjoyed!! Also I placed the weight on foot at the end😂
