I have been hesitant on posting progress, because in all honesty, I have struggled with my new weight gain and post competition feels. I'm up 8 pounds, and even though that's not a huge amount and it's all healthy weight gain, at times I struggle.
In my mind, I question myself every day if I'm still lean? Am I still defined? Where are my abs?! .
Those who have competed, or even dieted for an extended period of time, understand how hard it is to have worked so hard for so long just to watch it disappear overnight. .
But what I need to remind myself is it HASN'T disappeared, it's only building and getting stronger for the next one! As long as I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing (gym, eating lifestyle, mental health), then I'm on the right track! .
Sometimes, I forget to love my body at every stage. I struggle with my physique; but then I remind myself to love yourself, to be proud of the body I've built, that I can accomplish anything, and that each day is a new day to become a better me. ❤
Day 16 Plyo fix extreme + hardcore abs
Hey everyone, I'm still here. Sorry for not posting the past few days. I was having phone issues. All is good now. During the past few days, I was still keeping up with workouts and nutrition. Yesterday I did the sample workout from Morning Meltdown along with my regular workout, Upper fix extreme. ❤Love this new program that is coming out next month. Can't wait to start this one.
So we are heading out of town on Thursday for the weekend. I've been cleaning all day and doing laundry. Planning ahead on when to do my workouts while away. Morning seems like will be the best option.

My #TransformationTuesday is from the stage to everyday Alondra. I wear so many hats.... as a wife, mother, business owner, personal trainer, coach, mentor, friend and TeeTee, there is little time for excuses to creep in. Finding time to train daily and take care of all my other responsibilities is a skill that took time to develop. And I am learning to not beat myself if I have to say “no” every now and then. With a few shows to go for 2019, I’m continuing to learn that balance and looking forward to the challenge and victory on the other side. #fitlife#figurecompetitor#personaltrainer#fitmom#fitwife#entrepreneur#coach#balance#innerathlete

Pre & probiotics - what’s the deal and why do we need them? .
For good gut health 🌱. .
Our gut health is the foundation for many of our metabolic systems. It supports immunity, digestive health, bone density, weight management and brain health. 👊🏼
So what’s the difference between prebiotics 🌱and probiotics🌿? .
#prebiotics are the non-digestible fibre of foods that we eat (such as onions, garlic, beans, cabbage, kale etc) that are fermented feeding the good bacteria (and probiotics) in the gut.
#probiotics are live bacteria that are fermented in foods such as yoghurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha, ACV etc. They can also be bought in a pill or supplement.
I prefer to get my daily dose of good gut health through foods that I eat wherever possible. I maintain a high fibre diet by eating lots of fibrous vegetables and I eat probiotic rich foods. .
There are so many benefits to the gut-brain connection for mental health and healing injuries. I’ve always been a fan of probiotics but my brain injury has taught me even more about just how beneficial they are for our health ❤️.
How do you look after your gut health?
Don't you ever have those days when you need a minute? A break from it all?
I thought I would do a different kind of transformation Tuesday, one about mental health and taking the time to assess your emotional state. (This is actually something I try to avoid btw, but I'm working on it). I love to live in the moment and stay crazy-busy. For weeks, I had plans every weekend. I usually don't give myself a minute, until all the minutes catch up to me. 🎶
Tell yourself you're fine until you get some time alone. Everything you're hiding finally finds you on the floor. You gon need a minute."
Those are lyrics from a song called Minute by Parson James. I thought WOW, how did I hear this at the exact moment I needed to? I put it on repeat and took it all in. It described what I was feeling when I couldn't put it into words. Music is pretty fucking awesome like that. It's my therapy. It helps me work through my emotions.
I've decided that it's possible to be happy, hurting, and healing at the same time. I can choose to feel it an emotion, allow it, and let it go.
I'm working on focusing on the things I can control, and one of the biggest things is fitness. For a while I've felt like I've been spinning my wheels going through the motions, but this past couple weeks I felt my spark come back in the gym. This crazy excitement where I'm in my fucking zone, and I don't hear any negative thoughts. I fucking love it.
Another good way to cope with the bad days is to find a bunch of kick ass females who keep it real and inspire you to do the same. If I tagged you, I love seeing your posts in my feed. Thanks for sharing your journey and thanks for being a part of mine as well. (If you didn't get a tag, I'm sorry...there are so many of you out there that I can't keep up).
