In Psalm 85, the sons of Korah cried out to the Lord for spiritual revival. They wanted God to turn the hearts of the people back to him. In life, we allow our sin or life’s circumstances drive a wedge between us and God. It does not take much to fall back into the arms of the father. All we need to understand is that God loves us and that he is a forgiving God. Nothing we’ve done can separate us from his love. Ask the father to restore, revive, reconcile your heart back to his.
Indeed the Lord will give you what is good. .
Social Media torture = less contentment
The “Up!” Devo for September 17
We’ve been thinking about invisible robbers who steal your contentment. And more specifically, one who tries to convince you to put too much stock in (a) comparing yourself to others (in person or online), and (b) the judgments and criticisms of others.
It’s definitely a big topic. Alain de Bottom wrote a book about “Status Anxiety.” He defined it as “a worry, so pernicious as to be capable of ruining extended stretches of our lives, that we are in danger of failing to conform to the ideals of success laid down by our society… a worry that we are currently occupying too modest a rung or are about to fall to a lower one…” And do you know what? One of the tools that the thief uses to make us feel bad compared to where we relate to others…
Is social media.
Social psychologist Ethan Kross from Michigan University said, “We measured lots and lots of other personality and behavioral dimensions… The more you used Facebook, the more your mood dropped.” It’s where a lot of the comparisons happen.
In an article titled “The Agony of Instagram” Alex Williams says that it is the “highest achievement yet in social-media voyeurism” and “a new form of torture.” Yikes!
Proverbs 14:30 says, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Would you rather have envy, comparison and rot? Or peace, life and contentment in Christ?
The point is this. If you’re being robbed of contentment, you may need to limit your exposure to environments that thrive on comparison.
Don’t scroll mindlessly. Don’t buy the lie that everyone’s life is always that good all the time. Don’t think your status under God has anything to do with what others are up to.
If you’re being robbed of contentment, you may need to limit your exposure to environments that thrive on comparison.
By Matthew Ruttan
Wouldn't begin to understand the complexities of a single moment yet we all know and have some part of the answer to what this all means.
And when I asked the Father how can I love like He does, He showed me This verse & I sensed Him asking me - "Can you replace the word LOVE with Your name?"
"Love is large and incredibly patient.
Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else.
Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance.
Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor.
Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense.
Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong.
Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others.
Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.
Love never stops loving." 💙
I thought by now I’d get tired of u...tired of “our US”...U exhaust me, but tired I’m not. When I wake up in the mornings, u are in my thoughts before I even open my eyes. It’s because u do what u did in the beginning & there is no end to how I feel when u brush past me...I never feel alone (especially when u are there). I’m accountable to “our US”. I am FOREVER yours because u will not let me NOT take care of me. U are the hero that saved my spirit, my well being & my heart. I crave u in the most innocent form— I crave to say goodnight & give u forehead kisses & say that I adore u in the sprinkles after a warm sunlit rain at dusk... I just want to be next to u & nothing more or less. I thought by now I’d get tired of u... #Our Forever #Committed#Faithful#Accountable
THE Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
Psalm 23:1 AMPC
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 NLT
“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Psalms 27:13
When all you’ve known is a life of destructive habits, destructive mindsets, and destructive environments, it can be very difficult to see yourself living a victorious life in God. Because you can’t see it, you don’t move forward in it. This is when we need God to teach us how to live. It is a fear of the unknown that holds us back and hinders us from pursuing God with reckless abandonment. What does it look like for you to overcome and let Him have His way in you? What does it look like for you to live victoriously? What does it look like for you to walk in your purpose?
Imagine yourself victorious in every area of your life. Imagine yourself doing what God has called you to do. Imagine that you are walking in your purpose and every trial you face only makes you stronger and wiser. Imagine it, then pursue it.
My sister, you have not scratched the surface of the vision and purpose God has for your life. You have only tasted a portion of the kind of life He wants to give you. I encourage you to go hard after God. What great things you are capable of doing for God’s kingdom when you focus all of your attention on Him.
Prayer: Father, I am speechless at your love for me. You love me and I am humbled. All I’ve known is a destructive life. Help me not turn back in fear to what’s familiar. Help me to go hard after you, and your purpose for my life. You’ve forgiven me and now be glorified in me. In Jesus name, Amen. #psalm#psalms#scripture#bibleverses#biblestudy#womensministry#womenofgod#church#christianity#godisgood#jesuschrist#teamjesus#purpose#destiny#godswill#godsplan#faith#faithful#personalgrowth#spiritualgrowth#holyspirit#pray#prayerworks#followhim#habbits#kingdomofgod#kingdombuilder

Hoy he visto este número!!!
