If you happen to be in Livingstone/Victoria Falls at the right time, you get something special. For three days of the month, you can visit the Falls at night to see the lunar rainbow that's caused by the full moon.
The night needs to be clear, and the weather good, but if everything lines up well? You get to enjoy views like this. (These are from June's full moon... One of these days I might catch up.)
Occasionally I find myself sitting with a hot coffee in my hands, looking back at these little squares of my life. And on these calm days, when I am doing nothing in particular, it is exactly what I need. To be reminded that I hiked that mountain and that I woke up for that sunrise and that I travelled that country. The reality is, every one of those adventures I chose to take, meant saying no to another. I might day-dream about other aspects of my life being more complete, but there's a reason it isn't that way. I chose love, I chose adventure and I chose freedom, against what was expected of me. So here I am, grinning ear to ear, with an ever-growing pile of stories infront of me, that exist to remind me of exactly who the hell I am
Contemplating our return. We’re fortunate enough to be able travel often, even more so to have been to France and Paris several times. We’re headed back for a 10 day family adventure to celebrate each other, our soon to be larger family, and for mom and I 10 years of wonderful marriage. Looking forward to sharing the journey together! Getting to return somewhere with your kids offers an opportunity to see how they’ve grown from when you were there last and to see what new discoveries they make along the way. Can’t wait to see what we discover together!!
