Remember a few weeks back when we took donations for our back to school drive?
Because of the generous giving of many people we were able to provide 120 book bags filled with essential school supplies for kids who were in need in our neighboring communities.
These bags were given out to school kids in Rosedale, Queens - Mt. Vernon - and Roosevelt, LI
Thank you to all that gave for us to impact the lives of the kids around us.
We made our first ever class trip to Global Distribution and Warehousing in Mississauga to visit Paul and Steve who manage this organization and have had a large role in creating the curriculum for this program.
We believe that getting first hand experience in the environment is a very important step to long term sustainable employment by adding context to the training and broadening of horizons.

Society had defined success and having fun as earning a lot of money, chilling out and living the life.
Therefore, a lot of Muslim youth feel pressurised by this expectation from society and feel that they need to let go of their Islamic identity so they can live a successful and happy life.
How does Islam answer this question? How does Islam view success and having fun.

TALKING SCHOOL. Well not really, but education days at work. I had no idea the education opportunities I would receive as a CNA, but in working at Children’s Minnesota I have had some incredible opportunities. Last month I took an advanced behavioral health course that focused on verbal de-escalation skills using actors in the community as “upset patients”. Then earlier this week on Monday I was able to attend a neuroscience education day. I heard a talk on “race, racism, whiteness, & health inequity” by a Children’s physician which was both heartbreaking to hear some of the statistics as well as incredibly educational for my future as a healthcare provider. We also learned more about the various types of seizure and identifying them by a PA (half of my unit is run by the Minnesota Epilepsy Group), listened to EVD case studies, and my favorite part, using virtual reality googles to in which you are in the body of someone having a seizure. This was such a cool experience and while all seizures are different it was pretty incredible to be able to understand the feelings many people have before and after a seizure occurs. While I’m not in school and learning from professors right now, these educational moments have been incredibly impactful.
