✨connection✨. As humans, we all crave connection: Deep, meaningful relationships. Lasting friendships. Intimate partnerships. Unfortunately, when you lack confidence in yourself… You’re unable to connect deeply with other humans. During my 10 year struggle with food and body, I was unable to connect with the people around me. I would... . 👉 Get anxiety around social events (would my body look good enough?) 👉 Struggle to feel comfortable with Josh, my boyfriend. 👉 Struggle to speak up in work meetings. 👉 Obsess about my clothes with friends (how can I hide my body today?) . We can only connect with others to the extent that we’ve connected within *ourselves.* . ^^write that one down. . We can’t connect with people when we don’t want to be “seen.” When our brains are occupied with stress about our appearance and food. . I want to ask you today: 👉 Where are you hiding from the world? 👉 Who else around you is being affected because of food / body struggles? Remember this week that… . ✨The world NEEDS YOU.✨ . The world needs the most confident, powerful, badass, connected version of you. She is inside. She is dying to come out and thrive. Say it with me: . ✨ I deserve to feel confident in my skin. ✨ I deserve to wake up feeling powerful every day. ✨ I deserve to have a nourishing, healthy relationship with food. ✨ I deserve to connect deeply with other humans. . 🚨Tomorrow, registration is closing for the Boss Body Nutrition Revolution. . On the surface - this is a ‘fat loss’ program. . Yes… You will get leaner. You will learn exactly how to eat for your body. You will develop nutrition habits that last forever. . But at the end of the day this is SO much more. This is about living a LIFE in which… . 🔥 You stop hiding, and start showing up as the highest version of yourself. 🔥 You are able to connect with other people on the deepest levels, because you’re confident enough to do so. 🔥 You are fully connected to YOURSELF and understand exactly what your body needs to thrive. . If you are done struggling with food and ready to transform your body + life… Book your call now. Doors close TOMORROW.❤ click the link in my bio and let’s chat.

“I JUST NEED MORE WILLPOWER. I feel so out of control around food. What’s wrong with me?” (Is this you??)👇 . Every day I speak to highly ambitious women who feel totally out of control when it comes to food. They feel like they’re the only ones who have such a painful struggle with binging/ overeating. They beat themselves up, and obsessively diet even harder each time they binge, and tell themselves they have no “willpower” and need to be “controlled.” . LADIES. You’re not an object that needs CONTROLLING, you’re a HUMAN that needs understanding 👏. . Wanna know the truth?? 👉 Sheer willpower is NOT 🙅🏽‍♀️ the answer to sustainable weight loss. If you’re reading this, I can guess that you are a high achieving woman who does have a LOT of willpower. You set big goals and usually achieve them. But when it comes to FOOD and your BODY... We need to approach things differently. Willpower is finite. It gets depleted after a long day at work. It gets overshadowed by emotions (which are soo closely tied to food). Weight loss is WAY more complex than just willpower. To shed fat and keep it off YOU need: . 💫 The right plan that works for YOU and your body. . 💫 The right nutrition and fitness habits that last a lifetime. . 💫 The self awareness and tools to separate emotional hunger from physical hunger. . 💫 The mindset tools to avoid self sabotaging your success and rebounding. . 💫 The KNOWLEDGE and empowerment around nutrition to adapt to different food situations without going off track. . 💫To stay consistent with these things for a long long time without giving up (where most people fail). . Sooo yeah. SO MUCH MORE than just willpower 🙌🏽🙌🏽. . Most diets fail because they don’t address you as a human. They just tell you to blindly restrict random foods with no understanding of your emotions, or nutrition. . Wanna stop struggling and get LEAN together?? 👇👇 . If you missed my announcement, SPOTS ARE NOW OPEN in the Boss Body Nutrition Revolution.🎉Link in bio! . 👉This program is for you if you want to shed fat, get leaner, and transform your relationship with food forevaaa!! 👙 . Moderation is sexy. U agree? 👇 . As you head into the weekend, remember that you don’t have to be all-or-nothing with this fitness thing. You can... 👉 Enjoy a cookie and remember there’s always more. 👉 Enjoy a glass of wine without having five and waking up hungover the next day 👉 Enjoy bread without needing to eat the whole breadbasket because it’s “cheat day” so “might as well.” . Maybe you’re reading this thinking: . “OK COOL DEE BUT I CANT TRUST MYSELF AROUND FOOD. IF I EAT ONE CHIP I’M GONNA EAT THE WHOLE BAG. THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME.” . Ok, sooo that’s the REAL issue: You don’t trust yourself. This is something we can work on. Learning to listen to your body and honor its fullness, building self trust around food, and taking power back from food. If you’re going crazy with overeating it’s a biggggg warning sign that: ✖️ Your diet is too restrictive during the week ✖️ You have a scarcity mindset with food ✖️ You have not built self trust around food ✖️ You have not learned to listen to your body and honor its fullness. Moderation is often harder than extremes. BUT, these are learnable skills you can (and must) build of you are serious about getting lean and staying that way without the rebounding. Remember: Consistent moderate measures will ALWAYS win over inconsistent extremes! SHARE if you agree!! ✅ . deegautham.com/bossbodynutritionrevolution

Fat Loss Mistake #3 of 5... Are You Eating More Than You Think? . The little things add up, fam. All these little things we don’t think about—generous splashes of oil, juices 🍹, handfuls of nuts 🥜, the #extra avocado 🥑 here and there... can easily pull you out of a deficit and may play a huge role in why you’re not seeing the results you want even though you eat “clean.”😬 . Eating “clean” might make you feel amazing but is not a magic solution for fat loss unless you are in a calorie deficit. . I’m not saying you need to get obsessive about weighing every ounce of asparagus you eat. I’ve been there and this level of obsession is neither enjoyable nor required for the vast majority of people just looking to drop some fat and get leaner. . But, start building an awareness about what you’re eating. 🧠 . If you’re never tracked nutrition I highly recommend doing so. I have everyone in my programs track nutrition for at least 2 weeks to learn what the right amount is for their body and fat loss goals. . Most women are seriously shocked by how much they’re eating, when they thought they weren’t eating much 😬. Most women don’t have major issues with their metabolism. They’re just eating way more than they thought. . You feel me?? Are you eating clean but not seeing results? Tell me below about your experience 👇👇 . It be like that sometimes... 😂🤣🤷🏽‍♀️ #WhoFeelsMe . Here’s to a weekend of enjoying ourselves, while feeling our fullness, respecting our bodies, and reminding ourselves we want to feel our best. 🙌🏽 Is weekend overeating is a problem for you? Start noticing the voices telling you to eat more than your body wants, and catch them-what are they saying? “Might as well,” “you deserve it,” ”you’re only around it once,” etc etc—For each voice remind it that you actually want to feel gooood after your meals, and remind yourself how incredible you want to feel in your skin!!💃🏽💃🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 . who’s with me? 👇 . #BossBodyNutritionRevolution #BossBodyMethod #EatWithDee

#Realtalk - How many times have you felt guilty about eating too much, and then done extra exercise the next day to try and "burn it off" or punish yourself? . It took me years to stop seeing exercise as a self hate or punishment tool, and start seeing it as an exciting way to honor and push my body to feel my best.💕 . Even if fat loss is your goal, you don’t ❌ have to do anything drastic after overeating. This is not how your metabolism works—and often just backfires for fat loss, because the excessive exercise makes you hungrier and more likely to overeat again! (Not to mention, most people vastly overestimate how much they burn during exercise compared to how much they ate). . This type of fear based mentality just keeps you trapped in the diet-binge rollercoaster each week. ❌ Our bodies are designed for times of plenty and you cannot gain body fat from one weekend of overeating; the bloat is water and glycogen storage within your muscles. If you just get to a normal workout routine, and focus on hitting your macros consistently, your body will adjust to accommodate the excess food and flush out the bloat. I promise you. . If you struggle with this mentality try on the following re-frames: . I have to exercise 👉 I GET to exercise⠀ I need to burn it off 👉 I get to put this food to good use and build some muscles and feel my best 💪⠀ I need to punish myself with cardio 👉 Everyone overeats sometimes, and I trust my body to get back to feeling it’s best once I get back to my normal workout routine. . . There's a huuuge difference between exercising out of fear and hatred vs. love and wanting to feel your best. (And your workouts are SO much better too when they aren’t done from fear). . SHARE if you agree.📈📈 . PS: Want some fun workouts to do this week? Make sure to download my FREE DUMBBELL WORKOUT GUIDE now. Link in bio!💪💪

Who’s feelin this today? ^ 😬🙋🏽‍♀️ There IS a time and place for pushing yourself, and there’s also a time and place for rest. Only you can be honest with yourself about what you need. Part of your fitness journey will involve connecting into your body to listen to what it really needs to thrive.✨ . I used to be soo scared of taking a rest day with the gym. I would force myself to workout, out of a place of fear, self loathing, and guilt; not love. I overworked my physical body and had a terrible relationship with exercise. . So, how to know: “Should you push yourself to go to the gym, or rest?” . One thing I like to ask myself now is: “If I’m making this decision out of love, not fear, what would I do?” . Sometimes the self love decision IS to go to the gym, and push yourself towards your goals. Other times it’s to adjust the plan and take a rest day because your body is screaming for it or something else came up. . This doesn’t need to mean anything, and it doesn’t mean you’re a failure. It literally just means you gave yourself permission to rest. That’s all. . Remember that there’s no ❌reward for the woman who overworks the most. Rest, recovery are all part of your journey too. I know our society glorifies people who overwork—but we all know that’s pretty toxic. . Learning to rest without fear is an expression of our self worth: Remembering that we deserve rest, we can’t give our best in the world if we don’t rest, and we deserve to be taken care of. . The results you want will come from a combination of pushing energy into the world as well as pulling it back. Some phases of life require more push, others are more restorative. But you need elements of both to be balanced... ☯️ . . You feel me?? Tell me below if you vibe with this👇👇QUOTE via @styling_the_inside_

👉How to deal with Friday exhaustion:🤯 . Ahh Fridays. How do you feel at the end of the week? For most of us, this is the day when the stress of the entire week has piled up, and most of us are totally drained. For most people, their default tendency after a long week is to avoid life and numb their brains with food or alcohol. . Now there's nothing wrong with enjoying a great meal and nice vino after a long week. BUT it's your intent behind it. There's a huuuge difference between enjoying a nice meal with your friends while laughing in pure joy... vs. standing in front of the fridge eating a tub of ice cream in private because you're so stressed out from the week and are avoiding feelings. You feel me? 🍷🍦 . One of my favorite mottos is "nourish, don't numb." When we *numb* our stress, we're literally sending the signal to our mind that we can't handle life, we don't want to feel our bodily sensations, we are powerless. ❌ . But when we *nourish,* we remind ourselves that we are powerful enough to throw whatever life throws at us--we just get to fill our cups first with some pleasure, so we can rise with our full energy.✨ . One way of eating DRAINS your power, the other EM-powers you. 💪 . Most of us aren't taught how to nourish our souls or release our stress in a healthy way -- all we see are people numbing and avoiding, and that's all we know. I know I did this for years, without even realizing it. (Most often with excess sugar or wine). . So, start to recognize situations where you're numbing stress with food, and ask yourself: . 👉 Am I eating this to numb my brain, avoid feeling discomfort? 👉 Orrrr am I eating this truly nourish my soul, fill my cup, and fill my body with pleasure? . In this era of "treat yo'self" it's SO easy to disguise numbing by binging/ drinking as just "treating yourself." 🙄 So it's up to you to be honest around your intentions. . ✨Learn to nourish, not to numb.✨ . I’d love to know below--How are you going to nourish yourself this weekend?👇👇 . I'm doing wedding planning and hanging out with @baloo_the_babe before heading back to SF.🤗 . . ❌Don’t shoot yourself twice ❌ . The Buddha once asked his students “What happens if a man is struck by an arrow? Is it painful?" 🏹The students replied of course, it hurts like crazy. Now - "What happens of he's shot with two arrows?" Well obviously it hurts even more, and now it's harder for him to heal because there's even more damage done to the body. . In life we get shot by arrows every single day. Sh*t happens, we mess up, things don't go according to our perfect pLaN. This is the first arrow shooting us. It's annoying and painful, especially when we are the ones who messed up.
. But, what most people do is instead of removing the first arrow gently, they shoot themselves with a second arrow 🏹by wallowing self blame, shame, and guilt. "I shouldn't have done that," "I'm such a bad person," "what's wrong with me" "I don't deserve to feel good" "This is hopeless." etc etc etc. . We cause so much internal pain with the second arrow of judgment about the problem, that now we can't even solve the real issue because our their minds are so clouded with self-inflicted drama and wounds. . When it comes to food and fitness most people do this allll the time. We let one missed workout or one overeating episode dictate everything, we pummel ourselves with even more arrows 🏹 that are completely useless if we want to move forward to our goals. . The opposite of this second arrow is compassion. If you show yourself compassion when the first arrow hits, you're able to gently deal with it and heal through the wound, without adding more pain in the way. . SO. Recognize when you're striking yourself with extra arrows this week, and recognize that it’s truly not productive (...even though your brain might be VERY used to this pattern). You really can't expect to reach your goals with a bunch of self inflicted wounds. . Gory. But true. . 🏹 I would love to know below -- what's something you're "shooting yourself" for more than you need to that you want to stop doing?? Tell me below 👇 . 📸 PIC from my trip in NYC a few weekends ago @lisastaranise

⚡️Body image tip⚡️ . TRUTH: You don't have to always love your body’s appearance. Some days it's just ok to be neutral about your body.🤷🏽‍♀️ . There’s this narrative on social media that you have to love the way your body looks all the time, otherwise you’re doing something wrong and aren’t “body positive.” This just puts more pressure on the way you look being the most important thing about you. Which it’s not. .
When I'm feeling bloated, or when I’m on my period, I'm not super into my body's appearance... . But I don't need to hate it either. I'm just neutral about it. . It doesn't interfere with my day. It is what it is. I get on with life. . SO. On the days you start tearing  your body apart → Shift into body neutrality. . You don’t have to love it but you don’t have to waste energy hating it either. Neutrality over hatred. . From this space of *neutrality* it’s also much easier to take action towards your goals because you don’t have all the drama and self hate in the way. . Positive body image doesn’t mean you think your body LOOKS good all the time, it’s about realizing your body IS good regardless of how it looks, because you are more than a body. . You feel me? Tell me below if this makes sense to you..💜👇🏽 . . #BossBodyNutritionRevolution #BossBodyNutrition

This past November I went through a rough mental period of highly increased stress and mental / emotional burnout. I pushed myself too hard on all cylinders growing my company, I had no work boundaries, and I had zero social life. I went through a patch of heightened anxiety and mild depression, something I have not spoken about much on Instagram. . Anyway, over the course of several months I gained about 5lbs of bodyfat from not working out as much as I’d like to, and crappy eating habits. . I know that's not much. But my body felt puffy, sluggish, and slow. . Around November I decided to attempt a mini cut to shed some body fat. I tried tracking macros, I made a detailed workout plan for myself. . ❌BUT I failed! I didn’t stick to it. . Why? 🤔 . My mental health wasn't full there. I still needed more time to recover. This felt like added pressure on top of everything. . SO, in January, I shifted focus from "I need to lose body fat" to “I want to exercise to manage my anxiety.” . What workouts would be best for this? . 💜I signed up for a swim team 💜I started running outside 💜I still did some lifting, but shorter workouts (30-40mins) . I did not track macros this time, but I started paying attention to the reasons I was eating: . “Why am I eating this?" "What can I do to nourish myself instead of numbing myself?" . I set work boundaries. I saw my friends again after a LONG time too :) . As my stress reduced, my eating habits improved, and body released the excess fat. I ended up losing the 5lbs effortlessly. . Of course, I've tracked my nutrition for years so I have good intuition with food. . I know 5lbs isn't a huge difference. But the mental difference is HUGE. I feel way more aligned, centered, and balanced. . . SO. Moral of the story: . 💜Often it can help to take the pressure of yourself and just workout out to de-stress. Stress management is the BASE of your fat loss pyramid. Especially w/food. . If you struggle with stress & emotional eating? Dieting IS NOT going to fix that. Learning how to manage emotions the healthy way will. . . What are your current fitness goals?? Tell me below. 👇And don't miss Q&A on my story!! . . #BossBodyNutritionRevolution

Let’s talk goal setting - Do you set big goals for yourself? Fitness, or life related? . Most women I talk to are afraid to set fitness goals for themselves because they’re afraid of failing, and the emotions they attach to failure. So instead of stating what they actually want to achieve they say something vague and non-committal which lets them off the hook if they slip up. . Let’s take fat loss for example — Instead of stating they want to lose fat, many women I speak to say something vague like “I just want to feel good.” That’s a great start, but what does that even mean? Go deeper — How will you know when you feel good? 90% of the time when I ask the deeper questions together, it turns out they really want to lose body fat but were just afraid to say it because: . ❌ They’ve failed with fat loss in the past and are afraid of failing again . ❌ They judge themselves for having a fat loss goal, or are worried about feeling ‘shallow’ for having aesthetic goals . ❌ They don’t trust themselves fully to stick to something long enough to lose weight . So instead they say something non-committal. Then, they wonder why they have zero motivation and why they aren’t seeing results--when they never had any clear goal to begin with.🤦🏽‍♀️ . Fat loss is not the goal for everyone and that’s perfectly fine. But, whatever your fitness goal is, it’s not going to happen magically, it’s going to take focus, intention, the right plans, and consistency. . You need 3 clear things to reach your fitness goals: . ✨1. A CLEAR VISION✨ How do you want your body to look / feel? By when? Why do you even care about this? . ✨2. A CLEAR PATH✨ What do you need to do today to get there? Tomorrow? This week? Break it down into small tasks so it’s not overwhelming. Remove all distractions and focus only on executing those small behaviors. . ✨3. CLEAR THE RESISTANCE✨ What’s the drama that’s coming up about why you can’t do this? Where does that come from? What do you need to shift? . Does this make sense? . Cut through the BS and commit to what you want to achieve. If you can’t say your goal out loud, don’t expect to achieve it. . DREAM —> DECIDE —> DECLARE —> DO. . You feel me??Tell me below👇

I want to talk to you guys today about Binge Eating. Is this something you struggle with? You are not alone. Many women struggle with this and I did too. Most women think binge eating is a *problem*, and the solution is: . ❌ Another diet. ❌ More ‘willpower’ and ‘control’ ❌ Punishing yourself the next day. This rarely works for binge eating; it makes it worse. Because binge eating is not thePROBLEM, it’s a SYMPTOM of a problem. There are 3 TYPES of binges - each have their own underlying problems: . (1️⃣) THE EXTREME HUNGER BINGE: You don’t eat consistently during the day, come home starving and go right to chips because your body needs food, NOW. *binge.* . 👉 This problem can be solved relatively easily with balanced, consistent meals throughout the day so you don't get to this point. . (2️⃣) THE SCARCITY BINGE: Your diet is overly restrictive creating a scarcity mindset with food. Cravings are high. Eventually you cave - Thinking, "Might as well" "It’s cheat day” “I have to load up" . 👉 This binge can be solved with a more flexible nutrition plan that allows treats while staying in a calorie deficit. . (3️⃣) THE EMOTIONAL BINGE: This is a big one and something I used to struggle with a lot myself: . We use food to escape, cope, numb, or soothe negative emotions or stress. This type of binge eating really can spiral out of control because it can be so... numbing, and can turn into an eating disorder. . But again - the binge is a SYMPTOM. . 💕 What is the real problem? 💕 What are you escaping or running from? Can you journal it out? 💕 What feelings are you trying to avoid? 💕 What do you really need right now? . Life is always going to be stressful. Negative emotions are part of life for all humans. . If you want to stop binge eating? 👉 Start seeing it as the *symptom.* Take a step back and solve the real problem -- whether that's nutrition or something else ❤️ . . If you’re ready to feel amazing in your body... . Join me in the Boss Body Nutrition Revolution. SECRET INGREDIENT BANANA BREAD --> 🍌🍌🍌🍫🍫🍫 CALLING ALL SWEET TOOTH LOVERS. This was SO good!! . 💪 The secret ingredient is BESAN - is high protein flour made from chickpeas. It’s often used in Indian cooking. Last night at 10pm I decided to whip up some banana bread... but in the midst of baking I realized I had zero all purpose flour - SO I I tried substituting chickpea four instead. It was AMAZING. 🙌🏽 You can't taste chickpeas at ALL, and this flour really adds a nice nutty flavor plus a lil bit of protein. . You can get besan at your local indian store or probably a health food store. It's often used to make savory foods, but I'm DEFINITELY going to be using it in more baked goods for an added boost of protein and fiber. . RECIPE - BOOKMARK THIS!! 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 mashed ripe bananas 1/4 cup melted butter (you can try using peanut butter or nut butter) 1 egg 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 cup chickpea flour (besan) Optional: 1/4 cup chocolate chips . DIRECTIONS: ✔️ Preheat oven to 350 ✔️ Mash the bananas. Mix them with the sugar, melted butter, salt, and baking powder.
