➖ This dreamboat? She started working with Collabosaurus 365-ish days ago, right before her birthday.
When she mentioned that this year was her 22nd birthday, we firstly burst out into Taylor Swift's "I don't know about you, but I'm feeling twenty twoooooo" and then coaxed our dropped jaws back into place because there's just NO WAY this clever, mature-beyond-her-years, gorgeous woman is ONLY 22.
THANK YOU for a whole year of keeping our Collabo-customers stoked and the biggest of happiest birthdays to you, our amazing Gabby.
Oh how these dark and moody moments are everything ✨
Day 6: Discomfort. This painting was a struggle from start to finish. Just like some days. I wasn’t listening to it, I wanted it be different. Then I let go! The next morning I stared at it as l had my morning cuppa, and I was filled with a deep excitement and joy of finding beauty in the unexpected. Lesson to myself, let go of how I think things should be and delight in the unexpected. Feel the discomfort, sit there a while and let it show me the way.
Hand cut botanical confetti components 😍 They contain a blend of hand cut calendula which is believed to dispel negativity and draw light, love and success and rose petals which are believed to protect against the evil eye and attract loving energy. Love, protection and pretty to boot! I am so the smitten kitten for these ones 😍 They were such a labour of love, clear resin can be so challenging and with the way I work I had to make test pieces with different sized confetti which I cut myself to see which sat the nicest as my pieces are very shallow. It was so worth the hard work, I am so proud of how they turned out and if no one else likes them I'll just keep them all for myself 🤗🤣 I only have enough pieces for 4 pairs; 1 x Athena, 1 x Circe, 1 x Hestia and 1 x Andromeda and I made myself a pretty pair of studs to wear to work... I work in customer services so I'm always looking for magical ways to shield myself from negative energy 🤷🏽♀️🤣💖🌹
Anyone who knows me knows that BELIEVE is my favorite word ever.
Here’s your Monday Morning reminder to believe in yourself. Follow your heart. It knows the way. 💛

logo design for a pub that I did for a competition very early on in my career. I didn't win but I still like it. Now I have been in the Industry longer I have to say I would never take part in a competition like that again. I don't agree with or approve of websites where the client puts a tender out for a project for an absolute pittance, with little to no ability to communicate with them directly to find out exactly what they're after, and a bunch of designers waste their time spending hours working on it only for their design to not get chosen.
I can understand in some other countries that pittance may seem like a lot of money but frankly to do something well, you must spend time on it and work closely with the client. As a designer you have costs you need to cover: software subscriptions and hardware to actually do the work, office space, transport etc not to mention paying the bills, and recouping the fees for the design courses you put yourself through to become a good designer (which is also why you are doing the job and not the client). Please please dont be afraid to know your worth and charge properly for your work. Do not accept below minimum wage. Just because you draw things for a living doesn't mean it isn't a real job.
Next time you're in a situation where someone is expecting you to work for an insultingly little amount of money - regardless what industry you're in, remember this story about Picasso: A fan went up to him in a restaurant and asked him to scribble something for her on a napkin, saying she would be happy to pay whatever he thought it was worth. So Picasso drew something and said "that will be £10,000". When the woman protested saying that it only took him 30 seconds, Picasso replied "no. it has taken me forty years to do that". These websites and the prices they offer to designers are frankly insulting and demean the entire industry - you can't cover your costs as a designer and as a client you will not get good design. .
Guten Morgen 😄⠀
Water. Healing. Creativity.
These three words merge for me. Better said, the experience of the meaning of these words merge.
Being around and in water soothes, refreshes, and heals me. Even when I can’t name what needs healing, I can feel that I’m somehow ‘better’ around water.
When I reflect or speak about the creativity around my art, my painting life I’ll say something like, “ I get into a flow…” When I’m in the creative flow - which has a watery feel - inevitably something (even if I can’t name it!) inside is healed.
Using the #adamsred tote reminds me of this process. I painted the Adam’s Red painting several years ago. Now that painting translates to this bag. Mindblowing! Back then it hadn’t even occurred to me that this process was possible.
I used this tote for my swim things while visiting my dear friend whose pool is the backdrop for this photo. She just happens to be Adam’s godmother! More flow…
You’re invited to see more of the Adam’s Red clothing and accessories on the website listed in the bio. The tote is on sale for a limited time ❤️. #water#swim#healing#creativity#connections#findthemeaning#meaningfulart#creativelifehappylife#artfullife#bag#totebag#adamsreddesign#transformingtojoy#lisaldesigns ❤️
Now play one is under our belts it's on to play no.2 😁🤯🤫
'Saving our Bacon' by @easternangles is the story of an East Anglian family and their experience of rationing during WWII.
It's a fantastic story. Can't wait to start rehearsing tomorrow!
