Wishing a very special Happy Birthday to my little brother Terry Jr. (aka Dude)!! I’m so thankful of the caring, kind & sweet person that you are! Growing up, I always considered you my baby, that’s just how protective of you I’ve always been!! You’re such a fighter & such a trooper and I’m so thankful to God for you! Today, as we celebrate your special day (as well as Granny’s transition date), I ask the Lord to keep you safe and covered at all times! I know that Granny is smiling down from heaven so proud of the young man that you’ve become! I love you with all of my heart and soul!! Thank you for being such a major part of our family!! ❤️❤️❤️

#Juneteenth, also known as #FreedomDay, commemorates the day when word of emancipation finally reached people who were enslaved in the state of #Texas on June 19, 1865 -- two years after the #abolition of slavery. Over the course of history in the United States, the enslavement of #Black and #Indigenous peoples has been the #rule longer than freedom, by more than one hundred years.
#RaceForward is committed to and inspired by the promise of Juneteenth -- the promise of complete #liberation for African Americans. Because we know none of us are free until all of us are free, we shall continue gathering to do the work, the documentation, the collaboration and yes, the #celebration of every community involved in this movement toward freedom.
In that spirit, we are excited to announce that our next #FacingRace national conference will take place on November 12th-14th, 2020 in #Raleigh, #NorthCarolina! Please save the date, look forward to more updates from us, and in the spirit of Juneteenth, please contribute to some early support for our signature national racial justice conference by making a donation today! https://bit.ly/2ZtWj8S
Alright let’s talk about it! So there’s this reoccurring them in my life which has been to let go. Holding on to things that don’t serve you are only weighing you down. I am learning to enjoy l life and not hold so tightly to the expectations or standards that I set on myself and just let life be what it is. There is a freedom in letting go that allows for better things to come your way.So as we get over the hump of the week let’s let go of expectations of how our life should go and find the positive in how are life is actually going shall we?
