I have an abundance of herbs at the moment and discovered this cool idea for Herb Rings! I’m not going to lie, I’ve become slightly addicted to making these cute little wreaths - it’s pretty fun 😂 Fun and practical = winner. All you do is pick the herbs you want, plait/braid them together and join the ends by either tying the stems or tying with some twine. You can then let them dry or freeze them and add them to soup or basically any dish you need them for. Such a great way to use excess herbs! 🌿
If you've never seen swiss chard bolt before (lucky you) then TA-DAH, we made this video especially with you in mind! 😉 This is definitely a gardener's nightmare but you have to admit, the stem looks stunning when it bolts! 😅
Have you experienced any bolting this year?
I’ve been busy pruning my large Tahitian lime tree. These are the before and after snaps. I’ve pruned the lime tree to allow additional airflow and sunlight to pass through by removing middle and bottom branches to open it up. This will allow for better air circulation, which helps prevent disease and ripen the fruit and make it easier for me to harvest. Unfortunately, there’s been some future lime sacrifice as the tree hadn’t stopped flowering. 😢 I think I should still have more than enough limes next season. 💚
You guys my first romanesco! 🥳
I called my husband (who is on a business trip):
Me: P! THE ROMANESCO ARE FORMING!!!!
P: what's a romanesco?
Me: You know! The MATH broccoli!
P: Oh the Fibonacci's sequence! Cool!!
My dream garden is coming for me! It started with a whim last week, and continues with a couple tons of flagstone today (possibly the most inconvenient time to bring all this home). Big things are happening guys... and it’s gonna be a long and exciting journey 🎉🌞👯♀️ Stay tuned!
