Thank you to everyone who attended the Cantera Negra Tequila Tasting Thursday evening! Great job to our staff and Chef Paul for serving delicious food and drinks. A giant THANK YOU to David Szydlik (Chief Operating Office for Cantera Negra’s distributor in the US) for speaking with us about each tequila selection.
(Hardly) working from home today... here’s a riff on one of my favorites!

Sueno de atzo
Hard to beat small batch tequila! One of which is aged 2 years in Jack Daniels Oak barrels. Sueno de Atzo is becoming a go to. You will find their name under the definition of the word artisan in regards to Tequila.
They make their tequila the right way. In brick ovens. That allows them to extract all the flavor possible without needing to add in artificial flavors like most big name companies. It also means they use no acid to cook the agave! If Im not mistaken, they even still use a donkey powered system to grind up the agave. They don’t settle on the agave they choose, as they only pick matured agave plants. Where as many big brands take anything they can rip from the ground.
Nose: Agave and Caramel dominate with butterscotch, Citrus and oak on the end.
Palate: Roasted agave, with caramel, butterscotch, citrus and a hint of vanilla.
Finish: Finishes smooth, and dries out into a very nice slight peppery taste.
Let me tell you ,
If your not a tequila drinker like myself I recommend trying our Aarrogante damiana liqueur. It's such a fine smooth ,YET, sweet after taste. Compliments very with with a margarita or even ravishing just to have plain while you enjoy a nice dessert. It's my absolute FAVORITE, and very affordable!
My second favorite would have to be the Reposado it has a caramel after taste but it goes very smooth whether it's at room temperature or chilled the taste is just amazing. And lastly we have our Anejo tequila which personally it has a more fiery woody taste to it while our Blanco bottle has your typical firey , imma wake you up taste, as it can be enjoyed at any temperature, I've had many say its delightful served chilled. Please visit your local Total Wine and More for free samples I'll be sure to fill you all in on my next event !
Friends gifted me a bottle of organic anejo Tequila Alquimia at my birthday party AND a second bottle of repasado (my favoirtie) was delivered by the tequila maker himself, Don Adolfo! I must of been a good girl this year. ⠀

My Tequila @e.cuarentatequila
In case you are wondering about the name.....It means E40 in Spanish.
I have spent years and many trips to different distillers in Mexico working with master blenders to find just the right product and Taste profile
I have selected a small Boutique distillery that still uses the Old world process of making Tequila alone with modern facilities for quality and product consistency.
All of my Tequila is 100% Agave . Hand selected and produced from the finest and purest Agave fields.
I have produced all three types of the most popular types. Blanco, Reposado, Anejo. I will also be making a special Extra Anejo for Special holidays. Limited Edition.
The distillery is one of Mexico's finest Boutique and awarding winning producers.
This is a specialty and premium tequila available at your local store!
