Well, when stranded due to fire in Alaska, at least you can see the sunset over Denali and snag a sweet Airbnb cabin before the tour bus hordes sweep through like locusts. #alaskaadventures#airbnb#wildfireseason
Explored a new part I'd alaksa today. Drove up the Denali Highway for bit Caribou Hunting. No caribou. But we saw lots of Trumpeter Swans and baby's. Christmas fisH! Actually spawning sockeye salmon, they turn red and green when spawning. Saw lots of glaciers and beautiful valleys and lakes. #alaskaisourhome#alaskaadventures#alaskalife#alaskaisbeautiful
Spending a week and a half hiking in the Kenai Penninsula. Exploring the area for @10adventures. This one was a real gem!! It is unseasonably hot in this part of Alaska. Some locals on the trail told us that August is usually overcast and rainy. It sure hasn’t been for us. .
A golden send off to a trip that was both educational and inspiring. A vast and wild state that feels like another country. A space unto itself. Much more to explore there in the future. #alaskaadventures
The Norwegian Jewel.
Auntie Sandy, Momma Syl, and I counted all of the safety boats... there was definitely not enough for how many people are on board. We joked that it's a good thing that we stay so close to land. Interesting experience traveling with the oldies 😅
Granite Creek splits the Alaskan landscape woodlands in half. It flows through the spruce and cottonwood trees, right past a row of cabins, and eventually hits salty water. There were at least 15 king salmon where we were standing, and clear water from start to finish.

All aboard! 🛳⛴
I was not satisfied with my grandma's photography. Don't get me wrong, she did a great job. I just felt like none of the pictures gave my outfit justice. So other than the fact that I had post cards to mail and that their was no reception on the boat's dock... I called @ohitselvis. Pretty much the real reasons of getting off the boat again after already boarding... and I told him how I was struggling to find someone to take my photo. I really wanted my summer vibe to be captured. I found courage and asked a random husband waiting for his wife (to finish shopping and walk faster) so they could board. Lolsss. He was kind enough to take my photo. Yay! I never had trouble talking to strangers before and it's a new feeling for me to have new found social anxiety but little by little I'm conquering it. I'm happy to be making lots of progress in the endless process of recovering, re-learning, and healing from the aftermath of what happened to me. Grateful for the life I am given, the life I am living. 💖
It was sooooooo hot 😭
Skagway? What to do in Skagway? I heard there's a lot of beautiful excursions. Some tours that cross the borders of Canada too so bring your passport. Sadly, we went on none of them. I tried coconut adobo tho. As a Kapampangan, I'd like to kindly say, no. Lol. I don't even like adobo but I def was not into this. Sad to hear that that's probably the only Filipino restaurant in miles and miles for Alaska. Ice cream was cool. Doughboy was over hyped. Ended up back on the boat after the short walk. Feel like we only got off the boat to eat 😂😅 like always 🤷♀️
Whose else loves Sunday brunch?!🙋🏼♀️🥂
If you are ever in the Fairbanks area, you have to visit The Pump House! Their food service is "Alaskan Style", which we are learning means the combination of the freshest options possible and a very unique cultural heritage. Their brunch buffet is especially delicious! Make reservations ahead of time and ask for a table outside overlooking the stunning Chena River 🌸
What was the best photo of the last 11 weeks in Alaska? This one.
