We can’t wait to see you tonight! Get there early to hang out, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy community. Then later we will experience the power of song, spoken word, prayer, and the call to action as we prepare for next weeks event, “Fill every chair!”
“When we show up.” God is always ready to bless, heal, save, deliver. It’s all in His presence and power is released at your coming. Let us, therefore come before Him with boldness. #worship#kingdom#therockplace#warriors
I feel very comforted when I read this passage. I'm not sure why. The words, "And they stood still, looking sad" sit deeply with me.
I imagine the two disciples walking along a dirt road, and the space around them is wide open and flat. Two friends, deeply saddened by the events over the past few days. And then someone joins them on their walk. Quietly this person approaches and asks a couple questions. Perhaps answering allowed them to process the events and their feelings more fully. But they still doubt and are still confused.
The next line, "O foolish men...", I always read harshly. But as of late, I've been trying to read all words of Jesus with love. So I reread this line, but in a loving tone. It seems just like Jesus to boldly state the truth of things with love. He calls a spade a spade--these men are foolish. But clearly he loves them as he chose to appear to them, talk with them, break bread with them. So maybe his words were spoken with a deep love, like how a parent might correct a child who's very sad albeit confused about something.
Jesus goes on to take the time to explain to them how the prophets and scripture all informed this very event. The disciples extend this meeting by inviting Jesus to stay with them. Over a meal, Jesus breaks bread, says the blessing and gives it to them. At this moment their eyes are opened and they recognize Jesus.
I don't know... Just something about this whole series of events is very comforting to me.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Filipenses 1: 20-21 •
Sometimes God uses these storms to help strengthen us, and ultimately, learn who He is to us. It’s nice to hear other people’s testimonies, but it’s even better to experience His loving grace. To know exactly what it means, to lean on Him. Be encouraged. Here are two scriptures below to speak over yourself during times of distress. . #prodigaldaughterswalk
Whoever dwells in the shadow of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the almighty. (1) .
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (2)
Szívből kiáltjuk mindannyian: Gyere ahogy vagy! Péntek Este. Golgota.
We cry it out from the heart: Come as you are! Friday Night. Golgota.
Through it all, He is still God.
Through it all, He is still good.
Through it all, He is still faithful.
He holds true to His Word and who He says He is!
If He has carried you through some tough times, say AMEN! 🙌🏻
Firefighters all have many different skills but lead up to one purpose, servant hood. God has given us all that skill set and sometimes while serving we come to a point where we see some task in front of us and become afraid, many times we aren’t afraid of trying it, it is the failure that we are afraid of. Philippians 4:13 states “I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.” Some of our biggest fear sometimes is talking to our brothers and sisters about Christ, but God says you don’t have to jam the bible down there throat tell them about your life and how God has changed you and how you feel, God will do the rest. We are not here to change sinner’s hearts only God can do that. We are simply here to serve like Jesus did and love like Jesus. Do all things through Christ and for Christ because he gives us strength. #strength#courage#hope#joy#faithful#preserverance#worship#jesus#church
🖤 Silence the distractions so you can get tuned in to God! One important thing to remember about God is that he is a gentleman..He wont force himself on you but he will make his presence known and felt...he will tug at your heart strings...he will speaK to your spirit...question is will you recognize his voice? Will you be able to hear his voice over all the distractions in your life? If you are too busy to set aside some time for him, prayer or reading scripture you are busier than he ever intended for you to be.

"We parents are an emotional, neurotic mess, aren’t we?⠀
Sure, some of us are better at hiding it than others, but push the right button or confront the right issue, and every one of us comes to a point when we feel...⠀
We thought we knew so much. Maybe we did when ours kids were younger. Or maybe not.⠀
But there comes a point, a stage, when we’re not quite sure how to navigate as parents.⠀
Despite what others may think around us, we know we’re not perfect.⠀
Just ask our kids—especially if they’re teenagers.⠀
So if we’re not perfect parents, then why do we expect our kids to be perfect?⠀
Do you ever expect more of your kids than what is age-appropriate?⠀
Would you expect your three-month-old infant to be potty trained?⠀
Your 12-year-old to know how to drive a car?⠀
Your 16-year-old to have the perspective of a 25-year-old?⠀
I’m a high expectations kind of guy. I always expect a lot, so with maturity and wisdom, I’ve realized that my expectations may not be reality. But when it comes to my kids, my first reaction is “you should know better.” And sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they don’t have the life experience to know what to do in a situation. Or they’ve never been taught.⠀
Sometimes they just simply don’t know.⠀
Your kids are in process. You are too.⠀
Do you ever encourage them to be more perfect than real?⠀
Is your family a place where doubt can exist?⠀
Do our kids feel like they need to put up a front with us?⠀
Sure, someone has to run the asylum. Someone has to be in charge. But are we communicating to our kids with our words or actions that what they believe right now (which is in process, remember) isn’t as important as what we believe?⠀
Because if we don’t give them space to doubt or question, belief may never become something that is internal, or personal to them. It may simply be environmental.⠀
As a parent, you know you’re not perfect. You’re aware of where you fall short.⠀
But the reality is your kids aren’t either.⠀
Let them be human. Let them be in process.⠀
Guide them. Direct them. Instruct them.⠀
But also realize that sometimes they will act their age, and show their humanity." - Tim Walker #parentcue#wearemission
