To clarify: despite how the first photo looks, I'm actually not peeing. Just enjoying the rain. ✨
How to hike like a pro:
Drive to West Virginia. Park along some woods. Climb up and down rock formations. Find a trail...maybe. Definitely get off trail and lost and enjoy the rain and thunder. ✨
I have to do some intense people-ing 50-60 hours a week. I need my nature therapy and to feel fucking grounded again. I feel more comfortable getting lost alone in the woods during a storm than I do in a room of humans.
Plus, the woods give me an excuse to bombard the interwebs with photos of my dudes...because there aren't enough dog photos ever.
Accidentally snagged a Wood Thrush (Hylocichla mustelina) in our mist net last night. This is another first for me but this one was a very cool customer! He waited patiently for me to untangle him, posed for a pic, and then disappeared into the forest. Wild and wonderful West Virginia continues to amaze. #bird#thrush#wood#mist#westvirginia
