Hope these crazy gargoyles are ready for me, because, Paris, I’m coming for you! Finished packing about three seconds before I walked out the door (as per usual) and I’m ready for the good, bad, and ugly included in a proper adventure—bring on the delays! Give me all the food! Amaze me! Exhaust me! Make me cry and make me laugh! I’m ready. ✨
#MeetingPeopleOf: Busan, South Korea 🇰🇷
Day 4 (Last morning) in Korea:
I’m hungover, and everything is a blur. My clothes and hair reek of barbecue. Only one place I could be in: Korea. My last day. Perhaps the best way to start telling my South Korea photo series is at the ending, and retracing my blurry steps of 72-alcohol-soaked-hours in Korea. How did we get here? With a crew of masked individuals. Asia has taken the stigma from SARS’ medical mask trend in China, and have owned it since then as a fashion statement. But what did we do last night? I think barbecue was involved. Indeed the best way to celebrate a final night in Korea is to eat KBBQ. Maybe even live seafood… Can’t fully remember. Playing games like Soju Bottle Cap Game, where we flick the cap’s tail, and if it flies off, we have to drink. Doesn’t matter–we all won by getting drunk. I also remember learning a lot about Han and Jung from my Korean friends, revenge/bitterness and fondness towards other Koreans, respectively. I must’ve felt it too strong, since last night was extremely full of Jung fondness, and now–on this hungover morning–I just feel Han bitterness from a throbbing headache. Must retrace my steps back to day/night 3…

Take five seconds to realize something you’re grateful for today. I just realized it’s been 10 years to the day since I had a major surgery that saved my life. It’s easy for me to forget about, but every now and again I find myself theorizing on what would have happened if my mom had blown me off when I told her something didn’t feel right, or she didn’t insist on getting a second opinion when the first doctor told us there was nothing to worry about. I just always want to be someone who stops to smell the roses. Or never misses a sunrise. I feel like there are too many unknown variables to be okay with taking anything for granted, be it the house you live in, the people you love, a dream you have that you “know you can do someday, you just don’t have what you need now.” Whatever. Be while you have it, instead of being thankful that you used to. 🌼
Happy birthday to the biggest Ingram, who has paved the way for the rest of us.
If you are lucky enough it be loved by Donya, you will have her love for life.
Incredibly loyal and brutally honest.
When I’m confused, she is the one who sets me straight. When I’m scared, shes the one who talks me through it (for alllllll the hours it takes). When I have good news, she is the first to lift me higher.
I am brave enough to follow my dreams because she did it first.
Here’s to another big year sister 🎈
