Screen printing can be an intimidating process especially for the novice. We have simplified the traditional screen printing method by getting rid of the heavy equipment and frames and applying the liquid emulsion to the mesh so our customers don’t have to. This eliminates so many steps! The stencils are then pre-cut into 8.5”x11” sheets and are ready to expose right out of the package. Here is our “How to make a stencil” video showing the simple process of making your own custom silk screen stencils using our DIY basic starter kit. It is sped up 5x for Instagram. You can view our full length video on our website 🙂
1- Sandwich the transparency film artwork with the EZScreen stencil between the clear and black board. Secure with clips.
2- Place outside in direct sunlight (no clouds or shady areas) and expose for 1 minute.
3- Soak the stencil in tap water for 15 minutes.
4- Gently brush the emulsion side of the stencil to remove residual emulsion from the design area. Blot dry.
5- Place back outside to cure the stencil. This makes it reusable for 100’s of prints.
Voila! You have a finished silk screen stencil that can be used on a multitude of surfaces! Of course fabric and t-shirts, also wood, ceramic and pottery, polymer clay, glass, chalkboards, metal and more! Don’t be intimidated by traditional screen printing and give our DIY screen printing products a try!
