The past month I’ve been unemployed and its been quite and experience for me. I love structure and schedules and I’ve found it really hard to motivate myself to do anything 🤦🏼♀️ I’ve been spending the last few weeks freelancing and making connections and networking and working on my own brand and website. .
Hustling is HARD - it’s not in my nature to sell myself and back myself but it’s something that I’ve suddenly had to get really good at! I’ve been taking my laptop to cafes and spending my redundancy pay on pricey breakfasts and iced long blacks 😂 but I’ve been working hard and getting shit done which always feels good. .
No real point to this but just wanna say that if you also find motivation a struggle YOU ARE NOT ALONE 😂
Hey guys! I thought it best to use a #sweatyselfie as my introduction to you all 😅
My name is Marly and I recently moved back home to sunny San Diego ☀️ This is my second challenge (although I never posted last time 😆), and since starting in January I've lost 15 lbs!! 🎉🎉 I found @cleansimpleeats through instagram and, having been curious about macro-counting for a while, decided to take the plunge, buy the plan, and go for it! I've also been doing the #sweat12wc and already feel so much stronger and in control of my life!

WEEK 10 -LOWER BODY STRENGTH
This one introduced the “hack squat” which is such a fantastic lower body exercise. What I enjoy most is the added back support, which gives me the ability to increase my weight. However I know not all facilities have Hack machines so I made sure to demonstrate an alternative so you didn’t have to miss out.
Using an exercise ball place your feet shoulder width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand. Using your body weight press your back firmly against the ball pushing it into the wall, slowly bring your body down into a complete squat and repeat.
Little tip; focus on pressing through your heels.

Today I had the opportunity to try Hot Yoga with a friend (followed by some much needed coffee talk)
And DAYUM was it HOT! I didn’t know my inner ears could sweat, I was so sweaty that my hands and feet pruned up. The class was 75min long and I can assure you it was way more than just a LISS, but that’s how I’m logging it today. #sweat12wc#sweat12weekchallenge#bbg#bbgstronger
Final strength for the week done and dusted! #bbgfierce week 12 almost completed. Just need to do LISS later today. Thank you @chontelduncan for designing such a brilliant program. It has been so challenging but at the same time so enjoyable and rewarding. I didnt think a workout program could be fun, but I actually found myself looking forward to my next #fierce workout. Its helped my confidence and attitude towards going to the gym and have been a regular, which is so not me lol. Fierce has pushed me to try lifting weights, something I have always been too scared or clueless to do. But your #sweat12wc has stepped it out week by week. Making it easy to follow. Where to go from here? I will repeat week 11 and 12 inline with the rest of the #sweatcommunity and then I'm hoping #chontelduncan has fiere 2.0 in the pipeline. It's only the beginning! 💪😘💗
It took me a long time to get to where I am now. I started getting back into exercise not because I want to look a certain way, but because it is the right thing to do for my health. This goes along with eating nutrient rich foods, with the occasional “cheat meal” of course! Chronic disease runs in my family (diabetes, heart disease, etc). In fact, I lost my grandma a few years ago due to diabetes complications.Taking care of myself (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.) is something I have been prioritizing since the start of this new year. I want to live a long, healthy life and that starts now. I want to see where life takes me. I want to grow old with my husband, and see my family and friends thrive. .
Me tomó mucho tiempo llegar a donde estoy ahora. Comencé a volver a hacer ejercicio, no porque quiero verme de cierta manera, sino porque es lo correcto para mi salud. Esto va junto con comer comidas saludables. Claro, ¡una golosina o comida chatarra de vez en cuando está bien! Las enfermedades crónicas, como la diabetes y enfermedad del corazón, corren en mi familia. De hecho, perdí a mi abuelita hace unos por complicaciónes de la diabetes. Cuidándome (físicamente, mentalmente, emocionalmente, etc.) es algo que he estado priorizando desde el comienzo de este nuevo año. Quiero vivir una vida larga y saludable y eso comienza ahora. Quiero ver dónde me lleva la vida. Quiero envejecer con mi esposo y ver cómo mi familia y mis amigos prosperan. .

Smiling cuz this is the last week of the bedroom workouts.. this time next week we’ll be in our new place and I’ll be back in a gym. 🙌🏻😃🏋🏻♀️ Hopefully our new gym has better lighting than this room. 😜📸 There’s so much to do this next week - finish packing, possibly getting a new car, buying a washer/dryer, and then moving on Saturday! 📦🚗🧺🔑🚚 Thank god the bf is off work for this week so that’s going to be a big help. 🙏🏻 I’m going to do my best to get all my BBG workouts in but also not stress if I don’t get all of them done because of packing or because I need a little more sleep. 😴👍🏻🆗 #bbglegs#busyweek

Update: Legs on Tuesday, Arms yesterday, abs tomorrow! It the last week of the #sweat12wc and I am feeling sooooo lazy instead of feeling like I am finishing strong 😅. Really, though, I’ve found the workouts a little boring, and a little strenuous on joints. I now have a left knee injury, so I’ve had to cut wayyy down on the jumping and higher-impact LISS. Instead, I’m including more slow weight training and some brisk walking. I don’t have a stunning “transformation” photo collage, but the inner transformation/health improvement has been IMMENSE, and that is ALL that matters. .
Been kinda quiet on here lately because I haven’t been super motivated. Work is crazy and my threenager is on a whole new level of tantrum!
But- I knew a good #sweatsesh would set my mind right. I usually do #bbglegs at home because I’m embarrassed to do a lot of jumping moves in public but I went to the gym today, used heavier weights than ever before, and totally crushed it. And that workout reminded me why I’ve stuck with it...I feel so freaking good after a workout! Those endorphins are flowing, my energy is up, I can survive this weekend ...if I survive the #doms I know are coming 🤪
Currently getting my LISS in, which entails me walking around my house and catching up on some reading 📖. Once I get too dizzy from going in circles around the island (and it doesn't take long), I change it up and walk into different rooms. How do kids spin so much and not get dizzy?! I don't get it! 🤷 Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.

I am loving the process 🌟 This is a journey with no middle or end. It is a day by day exploration of what my body can do and discovering what movement I enjoy. It is heartening to look back and see milestones of my journey and to see results, but right now I am most excited for what is ahead of me.
This year I’m keen to try @chontelduncan#fierce and @kelseywells#pwr ! I’m keen to set new goals - things I never thought I could do, I want to do them. I want to keep this little glow in my chest alive, and to keep practising self love every day, because I tell you what, I am loving the process 💕

I started BBG 2.0 this morning and it was surprisingly manageable! The last few weeks have really been building in intensity so it was nice to feel on top of it for once 😂
Throwback to my 5 minutes of fame 🥰 was so lovely to have my picture on @kayla_itsines Insta - but what was even more lovely was to feel part of the amazing community of women who turn up and support each other. I am consistently blown away by the kindness people have shown me, not just on that picture but every day. The internet can be a mean and ugly place, I’m glad to be connected with some truly beautiful souls 💕
I remember when I saw the first saw the picture on the left I felt so deflated. One of those ‘oh is that really me’ moments. But that girl was strong and beautiful and determined, and so is the girl on the right. The only real difference is that the girl on the right knows it 💕
What a workout!! Work booked out a @barrysaustralia session and we went along to give it a go. Cardio and resistance training all in one - killed it in our first time in the red room!! 💪🏼
