Emotion and feeling. 🌈☔️🌞 We can’t see them in the literal sense- there is no blood test or CT scan to diagnose their faults- but we’ve come to learn a thing or two about their impact or influence on human minds.
Sadness, anger, frustration...these maladies are no stranger to the therapist’s room. But what about...
I can’t say I’ve ever diagnosed happiness (!) in the ordinary sense but it’s a feature of our existence that unites us all. We have all experienced some degree of happiness (no matter how fleeting) at some point or other.
But is being happy something that we hold a biologically driven innate preference towards (TRAIT); or is it a state of being which can come and go in a universally shared way (STATE)?
Truth be told no one actually knows 100%, but it’s a question worth asking if we want to understand positive mental health and well-being. Most academics agree that there is always some degree of genetic loading that might shape a person’s baseline ability to be happy, but after that it’s the environment, context and daily activities that drive it.
And so in honour of international happiness day yesterday, what does happiness mean to you?
Hi sunshine, come back.....I see you spring ⭐️
Off to train shoulders today and then i have physio to look at a bit of tightness I have. Especially my neck. I always hold tension there and can feel it so sometimes I need some extra help to release it.💕
Hibiscus & Rose Body Butter
I’m fast running out of this skin goodness. So a lesson for me that it’s time to start taking things up a notch and making larger batches 🙏🏼
This particular batch has been crafted using a hibiscus and rose oil infusion, such beautiful flowers for the skin.
Hibiscus and Rose blooms, Sweet Almond, Rosehip, Jojoba. Sunflower, Vitamin E, Certified Organic Shea Butter and Cocoa Butters, local Beeswax, Sweet Orange, Patchouli, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang and Thyme. .
Also an important note for those that have ordered. We’re still having many hot days and this butter like most natural products is heat sensitive.
So please make that you store in a cool area, even the fridge during the heat. ☀️
6 tins left, in store now ✌🏼
Is it emotional overeating or lack of nutritional awareness the culprit behind the expanding American beltline? ...
One study actually found that obese and dieting people were significantly more knowledgeable about nutrition than normal-weight and non-dieting people^. And that study it’s relatively old; you can imagine now with the internet it’s very difficult to not knowing that eating more fruit 🍇 and vegetables 🥦 and less of the processed food is the way to go. 🧐 lack of nutritional information is clearly not the problem!. ~~~~~~

I recently saw this post in a group I am in. I loved it so much... and today's energy seems very fitting to share 💜✨
"👌🏻 PEACE MANTRA MEDITATION 👌🏻
Peace begins with me... This #kundalini exercise is very simple. Repeat the mantra Peace Begins With Me as you tap your thumb on your pointer, middle, ring and little fingers. Each word corresponds with a different finger.
Peace - Pointer
Begins - Middle
With - Ring
Me - Little
I love using this meditation as it redirects your mind, bringing you back into the present moment, reduces stress and supports your overall well-being by pressing on the different fingers. .

ON HABITS // We all have them. The productive ones and the less useful ones 🤨
We love them and we hate them. But, HOW do you actually create new healthier habits that would enhance your daily routine and long term wellbeing?
On the blog I talk about an effective and fun way to create new healthier habits ✨ It all started with an experiment and then became a part of my routine!
How do you start? ➡️ Think really tiny baby steps.. 🦶🏻while using support of your existing habits.
When do you start? ➡️ Any time – embarking on a wellness journey is only YOUR choice and decision. There’ll never be a perfect day, special moment or the right week to begin!
Building new habits by starting super small can be very effective, as it doesn’t feel overwhelming, and tiny chunks are usually more manageable for a number of reasons. If done consistenly, the new small changes will eventually become a healthy habit and something that ‘we just do’ 🙌🏻 How great is that!? 💃
Head over to the blog and let me know if the technique seems doable to you. Give me a YES! And then…what will be your new micro healthy habit you will start with today? 🤓⭐️
Now, ☕️ time! ✌🏻
Little acts of kindness to ourselves... come on women let’s do this together.
The beautiful Sara founder of @wild__awakening and I are inviting you to our second event Slow down| Recharge | Shine Bright this coming Friday @holdspace_ tickets on sale on Eventbrite 🔽
https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/slow-down-recharge-shine-bright-series-tickets-57757278575 link also in my profile 🔼
These events are about empowering women for radical self-care by shaking things out, letting go of what has been, and setting intentions for what we want to come and how we want to feel.
It’s a magical and beautiful opportunity to wind down the week, welcome the weekend, rest, move, to mediate, to breath and set an intention for how you want to welcome in Spring and or you want to feel next month.
One our last Shine Bright Women said “what a wonderful event, I felt so much better after and so recharged and refreshed, that feeling lasted for quite a while... thank you”.
It’s the perfect tonic for modern life.
Join us for a candle night of self-care, all are welcome.
Love Sara and Sarah
It’s been a very mixed bag of a day today. Physically, emotionally, I’ve just been all over the map...missing my dad so so much these last several days to a week...having to work on Cheryl’s estate and filing her taxes/taxes for the estate, I keep realizing all over again that she’s gone...my poor Molly has a tiny abrasion that hasn’t been healing and it’s turned to out be because she’s got staph in it, so now she’s got antibiotics (not that she’s bothered in the slightest, lol, antibiotics just means a cheese wrapped pill to her, which she finds a lovely treat).
Had a nice lunch with my niece, but worried because she didn’t eat again...Had a bittersweet visit to the local used bike shop to make a donation of some of my dad’s vast collection of parts...they set up as a shop, but also give classes in keeping up your own bicycle after you’ve bought it, and how to make adjustments and minor repairs, as needed. It’s not only a mission that my dad would have supported whole-heartedly, but if I have to give away some of his things, it’s just the right place to give them to...
That’s him in the third photo, a bit before I was born, on a bicycle he built.
I was able to get a new bike for my younger daughter while I was there as well—the second photo—as hers was stolen several months ago, and we’ve been needing to replace it.
I near had a total meltdown midday, because everything seemed to be coming on all at once and I just couldn’t deal with all the swirling emotions and overwhelming stress of it all.
I was able to talk and commiserate with a beautiful friend who went to the bike shop with me, which always helps, and she knows all about my dad and understands the emotions involved in giving away his things. Ultimately I was able to do the one thing that calms me the most nowadays, and sewed for an hour and a bit, and worked on some quilt squares for the quilt guild in New Zealand that is planning, and will be making quilts for the families of the loved ones who where lost in the tragedy at Christchurch last week. Sewing in and of itself is always comforting to me, and good way to ground myself when things get overwhelming, (cont ⬇️)
Looks pretty gross but so yummy 🤤😍 Oatmeal with mixed frozen berries and cinnamon 🍓
Kids need extra water in hot days and during exercise. ☀️
According to the World Health Organisation, globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with faeces. I find this statistic really horrifying! #caretribe want to raise awareness about the shortage of clean water. Don’t you think us humans can do better than this?
Die Urlaubssaison beginnt ...
Wo geht es für euch dieses Jahr hin? ICH brauch definitiv 1mal im Jahr mein Gin Tonic am Strand 🍸
