Two Leaders ,
At their lowest moments.. Face to face with crimes of terrorism,
Picture on the left shows a shaken Jacinda Arden , PM of a rich , white , Christian country , in a hijab. She just had her first brush with " Terrorism " for the first time in her country . The whole world is shocked and saddened by the way a single gunman crashing into a place of worship and massacred 49 in peaceful Christchurch. Banner headlines run in big newspapers. Electronic media is having a field day. The whole world is empathizing and is by her side. Condolences from world leaders are piling up. She vows , she will not let this happen again. She will 'absolutely deny' mosque gunman a platform or a name ... The other one shows a grief stricken, tired looking, Mahinda Rajapaksa, in his " කුරහන් සාටකය " , the new leader of a war-torn, backward, dirt poor Asian country. He has witnessed brutal terrorism half his life. On 15 June 2006, he faced the screams of anguish of grief stricken villagers of Kebithigollawa. LTTE , which killed so many of his countrymen, and destroyed all his financial hotspots, ruined the day to day life and tourism, has just massacred 68 innocent men women and infants , and left over 70 injured during the infamous ceasefire agreement. This picture was taken when he visited the site of attack, amidst a massive threat against his life. He makes vow that he will put an end to this. Jacinda Arden will be hailed and remembered by all Kiwis and the entire world in her resolve and the hijab, as an apt leader who stands up to a solitary act of terror , undaunted.
Remember making dens & forts out of blankets & cushions when you were younger? Do you remember how it was the cosiest place ever? That’s just what our van feels like at night when our bed is made up & our curtains are drawn (& we haven’t even put our fairy lights up yet!)

The hike through Tongariro Crossing feels like a scene out of 👑 Lord of the Rings ⚔️ This was one f the last photos I had taken while hiking to the peak. It ended up raining, windy, with little visibility due to fog. My fingers got too cold to take out of my jacket even with gloves on. Hope to do it again sometime but on a Sunny day.
