Why am I jumping around in a dressing room like a crazy person? Because this crazy person fit into a size 6 jeans. I've been wearing the same size 12s forever now, constantly pulling them up, just dealing. Because I hate shopping, I've always hated clothes shopping. Nothing I wanted was ever in my size, and if it was when I put it on I HATED the way I looked. I also still see myself as a size 12 at 175 lbs, I still walk by mirrors and have to double take because 'that cant be me' oh but darlin, it is. This clothes shopping trip was still stressful, I didnt know what size I'd be so I grabbed a bunch. ALL of them were too big for me. I almost gave up, walked out without anything because 'theres no way a size 6 fits me, can't be' going against the limiting voice in my head, and my paranoia that someone would see me grab a size 6 and then see me do the walk of shame to put them on the reject pile by the fitting rooms. Ugh. I couldn't! But I did. And they fit. And I bought 2 pairs, and a cute AF tee that was a small. Serious #Nonscalevictory #NSV

Self confidence: so I just filmed tomorrow’s workout, and I’m already uncertain I should post it. Why? Because I’m just wearing a crop and my shorts. Before and after pics, so what’s the difference a workout video? Well the difference for me is, my bikini pics are always at a distance and the most flattering angle. My before and afters aren’t of me hunched over in a lunge showing all my rolls. Reality is, I have rolls. Lots of them. I’ve had 2 kids. I have loose skin. I put on heaps of weight. And lost some of it. Still trying to get myself back on track to lose the rest of it. So I’m going to try and be brave and post the video tomorrow anyways. Have some confidence. September Vs. Today! Putting my health and my overall wellness as a priority has definitely helped me make huge strides in my life. For the past seven months, I’ve done so many things that I wasn’t able to do before and now I finally feel like the world is my oyster. I mean, I’m going zip lining in Hawai’i next month and snorkel with manta rays and possibly hike by some awesome waterfalls! Things that I’ve always wanted to do but thought I never could but here it is! It’s going to happen. April 2018 ➡️ March 2019 __ Tonight, I was brought to tears in an Old Navy dressing room, but in the best possible way! __ For almost an entire year, I have avoided trying on ALL real jeans. 👖 The anxiety of them not fitting right, not being down to the size I thought I would be, etc. was just too much...so I just chose to wear things like jeggings and leggings instead. __ Something changed tonight. I walked in with a game plan to get a dress and a nicer pair of jeggings, but then I saw their regular jeans. I felt this force pull me towards the jeans and something in my gut said, "go ahead...try a pair...it's time". __ I grab a pair, go in the dressing room, and take a deep breath. The first good sign was that these "super skinny" jeans (as they were called) made it over my calves. Then I shimmied them up my legs and over my thighs (😌sigh). Then, I paused to regain my focus as I pulled them up over my hips and carefully buttoned them and zipped them up. __ (4 pants sizes ⬇️ )I have waited almost an entire YEAR to feel this feeling. All this year of hard work and dedication, blood, sweat, and tears has led up to this moment. So yeah....happy tears...happy tears everywhere. 😭😭😭 __ This moment...this non-scale victory is what pushes me to keep going. This is what I will keep in the back of my mind when things get tough. This is why I am not stopping my journey any time soon. Never ever give up!!

Compulsive eating is more than the struggle to stick to a diet. It is the struggle to free yourself from the obsessing and longing about food. Food obsession has overrun my mind too many times. I’ve sat across from friends at restaurants and begged my mind to stop lusting over their unfinished fries. I hate that I grew up looking forward to family celebrations as an opportunity to eat to my desire, rather than be with my family. Lately, I’m tired of my favorite part of the day being lunch. My eating disorder has robbed my mind and convinced me that food is what makes me happy. It’s not. Even when I’m sad, lonely, or bored. It can’t be my solution anymore. I eliminate certain foods, because I want to be free from their control over me. I don’t need bread to make me happy. In fact, when I was eating it—I thought about it all the time. Pasta, cereal—an Italian sub. They were not just rewards, but my daily fantasies. Breaking up with a food is as hard as any other break-up. You miss them, you hate them, you fool around with people who are eerily just like them. But as time passes, I’ve slowly been able to break free from it. I can walk past certain isles in the grocery store with ease. I’m growing to see food as friend rather than a lover. Eliminating trigger foods isn’t a restriction, it’s freedom from the control they have had over my mind and body. I know that if you don’t struggle with this, it may seem silly, confusing, or even weird. I try to my best to describe these feelings, because when I felt too embarrassed to talk about them, I just lived this obsessive life in secret. I don’t have this secret anymore. Honesty has brought me lots of healing and surrounded me with a community of people who finally understand. I didn’t chose this for myself, I don’t like these impulses, but I have to be honest about them in order to actually conquer them. I actually think running has taught me the most on during this whole fitness journey. Running has taught me to push myself and to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Running has taught me that I need discomfort to grow. ✨ Too often I think we shy away from uncomfortable situations. But what if we asked ourselves what would happen if we embraced that feeling and explored it a little bit further? What could that decision bring us? Growth is hiding in places we do not care to look. Why not wander in, instead of running away? Keto 2019: Weeks 10 & 11 (as of 3/19) . One. Pound. Up. . Had a rocky two weeks. Fell off a little bit started to feel a little too comfortable doing it. I started really feeling like crap, and I had to remind myself of why I started keto. I had to reach back to day one and pull forward that reason to really get my ass on the bandwagon. (I never fell off the #bangwagon though!) . This is my journey, and part of it is learning and practicing the new lessons you develop. These past couple weeks have been of those periods for me. Granted it didn't affect me too much on the scale, it definitely took a toll physically. Feeling drained, inflammed... it even worsened my sinus infection (btw it was a sinus infection that persisted 😅). I got tired of feeling that way. . Now I'm back to tracking, my energy is increasing (evident by my last post), the wheels inside my head are turning more efficiently again, and - even though I had antibiotics - my chest is feeling like I really have gotten better. . It's not easy regaining focus, but it's not impossible. I did this away from IG because first, IG is one tool I use and have been using continuously to build myself up. There's a certain energy I want to keep in this space. Second, these pitfalls and struggles are internal and have nothing to do with keto, so I don't want to deter anyone who's trying to mobilize their journey with issues based on my specific behaviors. But now, I definitely wanted to share in retrospect - because we all should remember no journey is perfect. . We all owe it to ourselves to do right by ourselves. . I am proud of my core beliefs. It's one of my reasons #whyiloveme. . .
