Top Prospect: D.K Metcalf, Ole Miss - We all know D.K is a freak athlete after his combine workout but he has become a somewhat divisive prospect. However, he is comfortably my number 1 receiver in the 2019 class. To think he is just a good athlete at this point is simply untrue. He is incredibly refined in his release work at the LOS and shows flashes selling his routes at a high level. The physical tools make him a true deep threat and he shows the ability to haul in jump balls and contested catches. The ceiling with DK is ridiculously high but he does need to overcome some Inconsistencies with his hands and expand his route tree .
Best Slot Receiver: Andy Isabella, UMASS - I love Isabella’s game. He is a nuanced route runner with exceptional speed and change of direction quickness. His skillset translates perfectly to the slot. In the right system he can be a dynamic slot option in the NFL
Best Speed: Hollywood Brown, Oklahoma - Whilst I have a fair few concerns with Brown’s projection to the next level, his game changing speed is undeniable. Whether its taking short passes to the house, or torching DBs on 9 route and posts, Brown routinely wins with his long speed. Whilst it is a shame we didn’t get to see Brown test at the combine, his play speed is obvious
Biggest Sleeper: Terry McClaurin, Ohio State - A special teams ace at Ohio State, McLaurin put up relatively modest production as a receiver. In the mid rounds, McLaurin is going to make an NFL team very happy. He is a well rounded prospect with great speed, good quickness through his breaks and the ability to win at the LOS. There is a lot to like with McLaurin and I think he has a chance to be a long time contributor in the NFL
