I never imagined that I’d become someone who counted their steps and sung the praises of the slow and steady exercise known as walking. “Hardly enough payoff, not sweaty enough, a bit dull,” I’d always thought. But as the years passed, and my body changed (along with my mind), I’ve realized that the relatively unglamorous practice of walking brings with it a whole host of deceptively simple pleasures.⁣ ⁣ When a friend of mine suggested we pair up for some exercise accountability — measuring our daily steps plus WhatsApp check-ins —I said yes immediately. I’d had a particularly difficult few years, during which time seemingly every proverbial midlife challenge (including aching joints and sometimes overwhelming fatigue) had been thrown my way. My exercise levels had dipped, and although I’m not overweight, my weight had slowly increased.⁣ ⁣ And now, I’m hooked on walking as my daily exercise! ⁣ (To read the whole story, click link in bio). ⁣ ⁣ And you? People don’t need to go to a therapist, they need to have an understanding of God’s Universal Laws. The problem is that people don’t understand the true meaning of God’s revelations. Al-Quran defines paradise as state of progression, where the “self” continues to grow indefinitely and negative emotions are not present. Likewise, hell is defined as a state of stagnation, where the growth of the “self” comes to a halt and no further progression is allowed. In this state of “Hell” that begins right here in this very life time, you will experience a wide range of negative emotions such as: Depression, Anxiety, Hate, Loneliness, Regret, Hopelessness, Anger, etc... The only reason a person will experience a state of Hell is by violating God’s Laws. Some of God’s laws includes not associating partners with Him, don’t lie and ALWAYS tell the TRUTH, treat all PEOPLE kindly (especially parents), No intimate relationship without being married, and help the needy if you have the means to do so by spending on them all that is above your needs. Unfortunately, the majority have normalize violating most, if not all of these commandments. Therefore, due to violating these commandments, your reward will be a life of hell with no security. For these violations of morals, we have an unprecedented number of single mothers and children without a solid foundation. Crime is at an all time high due to poverty being at an all time high. Our educational system lacks reality and people opt to live the fast life and are deprived of the basic necessities of life. This is the punishment for abandoning God’s final message in Al-Quran for mankind to serve God by serving His Creation and establishing a Benevolent Social Order where Morals rules the hearts of all, capitalism is no more, & the rule of law belongs to God alone. Además, al consumirlos , nos sentimos “mal” y entramos en un bucle de emociones negativas ( culpabilidad, remordimiento, sentimiento de fracaso...) lo que nos lleva a sentirnos peor, si cabe. Una opcion para evitarlo es anticiparnos, estar preparados para que cuando se genere ese antojo de dulce🧁 y ultraprocesados tengamos otras opciones para sustituirlos , como helados de frutas 🍉 🥝, batidos de proteina de chocolate 🥤, fruta disecada, etc... We should be exercising because we value our health NOT because we feel we need to look a certain way. - - - We are constantly bombarded with the most unhealthy messages and even more so in the lead up to summer. “Get your bikini body.” “Boot camps to shred”, “Lose 5kg in one week” and the list goes on. Basically the same old message of blasting your body so hard until you can’t move because apparently this is going to give you results. This is not a clever or healthy way to exercise nor is it highly effective if other areas of your lifestyle are not addressed. The result will be heightened cortisol levels (cortisol is a hormone that promotes muscle wasting and fat storage) exhaustion, and fatigue. It will not only have a physical effect but a psychological effect too - depression, anxiety and lack of sex drive 😬. - - - For many years, through my teens and beyond I had a negative association with my body. I wAs a middle distance runner and trained miles each week. There wasn’t much fat on me. In fact, I think I was only about 12 percent body fat in total at one point, which is very low. However, I was fatigued, often sick, lacked energy and definitely did not have a healthy relationship with food or my body. - - What we eat and what level of stress we are under in our lives has a massive affect as to how we respond to exercise. Make sure you balance different forms of exercise and include rest days. Weights are good for strength, cardio is important for your heart, Pilates to look after your joints and to teach core stability (which you need for cardio and weights to avoid injury) and Yoga for mobility, flexibility and meditation. - - - Look beyond that mirror and beyond those unhealthy mixed messages you read. Find something that truly motivates you to be healthy (for me, it was my children). Make positive changes to the way you eat, exercise and live so that you can have a HEALTHY body and mind.
