Went for a 16km hike/run today. This photo is in front of one of the many pieces of street art underneath one of the many bridges I ran under.
I tried to take lots of dirt paths that I'd usually go past because I've got somewhere to be. It was nice to be completely selfish and explore a little.
I even managed to do some scrambling and cross a river over rocks and running water without getting my running shoes wet (wet shoes at 7km would not have been enjoyable!). It was a fun bit of problem solving trying to cover some of the big gaps between rocks.
It was great being back out in nature after a difficult day yesterday. It feels so restorative, and it blows my mind how you can find some great hikes so close to the city. I'm completely knackered now but it feels good.
The human race has taken another hit… This time in Sri Lanka. More than 300 dead, some 500 wounded according to the latest official tally. We mourn the human loss, deplore the mad violence – and wonder a little too. The public response in our part of the world has been underwhelming, perhaps because the attack occurred so far away in a little known portion of the planet. Surely violence there must be less significant somehow. Imagine if this had happened in New York or Paris or London – social media would have been ablaze with thoughts and prayers. And so, today's post by the Humanity Project ... a small reminder that every human life has equal value, no matter where that life is lived. #srilanka#respect#diversity#selfworth#theHumanityProject#helpingkidstohelpkids#genderequality#lgbtq#allthesame#betterworld
