“Branches and stones, daggers and bones, they locked the beast away”
I loved this spooky, twisty book with great dynamics and fantastic bi and disability rep 👌🏼
My review of The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman is now live on my blog! (Link in profile). #Gifted by @titanbooks
AFTER THE EASTER INDULGENCE.... thank goodness for @saradasilvabfw new Capri leggings to save the day! The incredible sculpting material and design is concealing a very large Easter addiction of Mini Eggs (I have definitely been #offplan this last few days..) ...however I am back to my 30 days today before a few days away in Cornwall this weekend with my boys 🐣✅🧘♀️🏃🏼♀️ ... Living 80/20 means I don’t miss out on anything 🙌🏻💥✅ and when I have AMAZING sportswear it’s an added bonus!!!
#gifted#myhouse#livingwithart#ikeacanada#ikeaartevent2019#virgilablohxikea#linkinbio
Lunch Time 😋
I've been so much more relaxed with weaning this time around and boy has it paid off. I haven't found much that girl wont eat! But she loves feeding herself and has been really enjoying these BabyLed spreads, we were gifted to try, on toast, with cucumber sticks and even on a hot cross bun! Her faves... Yummy Strawberry and Raspberry & beetroot! ♡
#ad Packing up my weekend & looking forward to the next. These days I’ve started a count down for everything: my next trip home, the number of classes I have left and the day my next paycheck comes.
But unpacking today had me thinking.
What will I do with my time until ________ happens/comes or ______ ends/begins?
It’s so vital that we give purpose to the moments we want to pass quickly.
The countdown to summer,
To a new chapter,
A new place,
A new title,
The end of a long fought battle,
We’re all expecting something — waiting for something. Often times we can find ourselves wishing away our current situations - our current struggles or just the mundane moments of everyday life wishing for something greater. And all of that can be justified entirely.
But — in both the good and the bad, we must push forward having hope for the future, all the while staying present in the here and now.
These joys were meant for today.
These struggles were meant for today.
These moments - both casual and colossal - were meant for today.
One day you’ll be there.
You’ll may the things you once wished for.
The things you’ve waited for.
The answer you’ve hoped for.
But know that today is also a day you’ve prayed for.
You’ve hoped for. You’ve worked for.
What you have, know, do, love today is because your yesterday and all the days prior.
We hold on for the next weekend, our big break or the dreams we’ve always dreamed, but we give purpose to now.
We give reason to now.
And we give thanks for now.
Because we aren’t promised tomorrow.
Today is all we’ve got.
Karijini National Park 💫⭐️✨
Over the Easter holidays I was lucky enough to have visited and camped in the Karijini National Park. I love this part of Australia so dry and harsh and at the same time so lush with beautiful water holes. I find that my body is very effected by the temperature changes and I usually get a cold. This time I brought Hab Shifa black seed oil and the black seed oil capsules which are a great immune system boost supplement. I also have Ross River virus and I sometimes get join plans in my legs and feet and the black seed oil is a powerful anti inflammatory as well! These two products combined with taking the Active Manuka honey are a winning combination for keeping me healthy and active while camping in the great outdoors. .
Today seemed an appropriate day to talk about these undereye patches #gifted to me by @snp.korea @madforcos as I am travelling today so definitely will be slapping a pair on tomorrow! .
These undereye patches are gels (rather than sheet material) which initially had me wary as I’ve found many gels seem to be either too heavy or the wrong shape to sit comfortably under my eyes and just keep slipping down. I did not have this problem with these patches, they were nice and thick and settled onto my skin easily, staying in place with no need to sit still or be overly careful. They contain a bunch of moisturising agents and the key one this formula focuses on is “bird’s nest”, which was an ingredient I wasn’t familiar with. When I asked my mum if she’d heard of it she immediately thought of an Eastern Asian soup dish which actually turned out to be more or less the same thing! “Bird’s nest” specifically refers to the nest of the swiftlet bird which is made from its own saliva rather than twigs and adheres to cave walls. After the breeding season, swiftlets abandon their nests and they’re collected for soups and now apparently face products - the more you know! 😂 Anyway, these leave my undereye feeling very smooth, hydrated and brightened. As with most eye gels the effect is temporary and mostly for reducing puffiness but they really do improve the sorry state of things after a long night! I was so impressed I’ve popped them in my case to go back with me! .
Also pictured is another product in the “bird’s nest” collection, the Water Sleeping Packs. These come in individual sachets with a generous portion more than enough to do my whole face and neck. This cream feels very lightweight and hydrating and definitely packs in the moisture. I have used these alone but my favourite way to use them is as a sort of a serum under a heavier moisturiser as my skin is so dry that the light texture just doesn’t always feel enough for me! .
Have you tried these before? Had you heard of swiftlet spit as the nest (😉) big thing? .
Disclaimer: I was sent these products for the purpose of review by SNP. I was not paid to make this post and all opinions are my own.

I look like a potato smiley because WE GO ON HOLIDAY THIS WEEK. We’re off to the Caribbean (Turks and Caicos to be exact) for the most exotic of family getaways with @beaches_uk. I am hideously excited. Bit nervous about the flight with Atti in tow but I am sure it will all be worth it when we land to 28 degree sunshine and white sandy beaches. The stay is gifted so will be tagging everything #gifted, and I am also doing a fashion and travel event with Beaches which is completely free - more info on that in my stories. And breathe, I *think* that is everything I needed to say. Now off to finish packing, word editing and writing that skincare blog post I have been promising since Christmas 😂
I’ve spent the last few days in the Hunter Valley relaxing with @suzilee_. We didn’t leave to house for two days - bliss!
It was the perfect time to cook up @the_bircher_bar Spiced Matcha Mix. I added a bit of maple syrup to mine and had it cold. How epic has this weather been?! ☀️
To be honest, I’m not a huge matcha fan so I was a bit sceptical about this drink. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised! The additional spices of ginger, sumac and vanilla made the matcha flavour less strong, it was a bit like a chai actually! #thebircherbar#gifted#spon#ad
