In case you missed it, Cape Town's been selected as the global host city for International Jazz Day 2020 which will see a range of events (art/music/photography/etc) taking place from now until April next year, culminating in a massive concert of local & international musicians. Anyone interested may contribute. The celebration is a fairly recent initiative led by UNESCO and the Thelonous Monk Institute of Jazz. Pictured is Executive Director, Brenda Sisane, speaking at the media briefing earlier today. Watch this space for my piece breaking down further what this means for jazz in the city...
#BehindTheScenes of event production. 👌🏻 Bringing the florals in for some beautiful arrangements.
Books are a lot of thing for a lot of people. It’s a million things, a million places and situations.
But for me, books are people, hidden away in lonely aisles with their little stories and life to be undiscovered.
They are those unsaid and uncalled for friends which you can sit by and have a chat with in the most silent of places, to the crowded metro which takes you to work, I prefer them most at parties I don’t wanna go for. Books are those people. In fact, books are people.
They are people, of different types, in different worlds, with problems as similar as yours and just like you listen to them, they listen to you.
Books are people, the people who you can read into. It’s like, you read a book and you know that the person sitting right next to you is like Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy from Jane Austen’s masterpiece, all good and gentleman-ish or the guy who looks so much in love gives you those Noah Calhoun vibes from The Notebook 😌
Book, make you learn, people and how they can be. They make you grow, they make you who you are. That’s why it’s rightly said, what a person reads define him.
In the world of #netflix , never let your definition fade away. Stay tuned to your lifetime and offline companion. ❤️ .

A very rare selfie from me (those who know me know it’s not usually my style), but I can’t resist when I’ve made the most beautiful girl in the world my fiancée. I came to France with her to have the time of our lives, and now I luckily get to come home knowing that when said yes, she would be mine forever. My partner in crime, adventure buddy, and now my fiancée. Can’t wait for everyone to see her gleam in person. #truelove#fiancee#vivalafrance#vacation#celebration#engaged
