From @eddied77 JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli police forces shut down a Palestinian soccer tournament in the Beit Safafa neighborhood, in the central occupied West Bank district of Jerusalem, reportedly for being held under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority (PA). Local sources confirmed that Israeli police forces raided Beit Safafa’s soccer field and hung a notice issued by the Israeli Public Security Minister, Gilad Erdan, banning the soccer tournament from taking place at any field for allegedly being held “under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority to mark the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day.” The soccer tournament was organized by the Multaqa Ahali al-Quds (the Jerusalemites Forum) and the Jerusalem Clubs Association.
The Jerusalemites Forum said his chairman Khaled Sabbah affirming that the forum is apolitical and is not affiliated with any Palestinian political actor.
Sources also pointed out that 12 teams with players, aged between 12 and 13 years old, from the Jerusalem district were scheduled to play in the canceled tournament.
Illegal Israeli settlements, along with the Israeli separation wall, have effectively cut off Beit Safafa from the West Bank.
The neighborhood suffers from poor infrastructure, in addition its residents are constantly subjected to harassment and detentions by Israeli forces.

One after the other, France’s three richest families opened their checkbooks and pledged a combined $565 million to rebuild the fire-ravaged Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. The donations should go a long way to restoring Notre Dame — but they’ve also sparked a debate about wealth, taxes and the particular brand of philanthropy practiced by France’s richest families. Critics argue the donations would be better spent on social programs to help the poor in a country where rising inequality has contributed to the outbreak of recent street protests.
President Donald Trump lamented back in 2017 that the appointment of a special counsel would mark the end of his presidency — and was so furious that he reacted with an expletive, according to the special counsel's redacted report released Thursday.
Trump first learned that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel from then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions during a meeting to interview candidates for FBI director in May 2017, the report said. Also present were Sessions' chief of staff Jody Hunt and then-White House counsel Don McGahn.
After Sessions delivered the news, "the President slumped back in his chair," the report said, citing notes from Hunt. "Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I'm fucked," Trump said.
