A brief hello from the mountain.
Deep peace, delicious meals, glorious running routes, abundant wildlife, and a birdcall soundtrack like no other. Wakening to the calls of the curlew, lapwing, sandpiper and oyster-catcher; watching black grouse lekking in the evening; ring ouzel and stone chat calling further up the valley; a gorse-filled hillside fills the air with perfume.
And rain; high winds; low clouds; swirling mist. Which is a boon when I am supposed to be writing... Lots of time for thinking. Quite a lot of writing. Still lots to ponder.
Including how to bring some of this peace home, to maintain the space for creativity and reflection when this retreat is over.
Hay Festival next weekend. Then back to the real world.

So what can we do when #meltdowns and #tempertantrums happen? First, take a deep and slow breath. 💨 Remember to remember that tantrums = communication. And when it’s over, be kind to yourself. Nobody’s perfect! And everyone is different, so what works for one kid or adult may not work for another! 😉
